Any chance the Cardinals could hire Wei-Yin Chen as the batting cage pitcher?

If the price was right, BlackHills. Oh….E-5 opens the door for the Dodgers here in the 5th

Hudson comes as close as a starting pitch can to be eligible for the win, but he’s going to give way to John Brebbia with the bases loaded and 2 outs.

Brebbia whiffs his man to keep the shutout intact!

I was just reflecting back to Vin Scilly back in the day telling us of the all time regular season record between the Cards and Dodgers and they were always just a game or two apart. Well, the Cards now hold a 32 game advantage in head to head play vs the Dodgers. The Cards vs some other foes in head to head regular season play all time

Atlanta Braves – Cards are +109 games.
    Milwaukee Brewers – +46 games
    Cincinnati Reds – +109 games
    Mets – +41 games
San Diego Pads – +87 games
    Philadelphia Phillies – +266 games
    Houston – +50 games

    cubbies – -59 games
    Pirates – -49 games
    SF Giants – -103 games

Brebbia continues his good work through the 6th, striking out Pederson to end the inning. Cards coming to bat up 4-0.

It hasn’t always been pretty, but the Cards pitching has gotten it done so far tonight. A few more tallies would make it more comfortable for the last few innings.

It’s all about trust. John Brebbia is trustworthy with ball in hand. So is Gant. So is Daniel Ponce de Leon. Hudson and even Flaherty are not quite there yet. I still trust Miles, but it’s a wavering a bit.

pretty embarrassing to take a fastball right down the middle of the plate for strike 3 there bader. I do not understand hitters today at all. you don’t guess with two strikes. you think hard, gauge down

Gant’s gonna have Tommy John by the end of May with the amount of usage by Shildt. 7th appearance in 11 games is stupid.

I’m a little worried about Gant tonight too, Willie. Hopefully he’s up to the task again.

Gant has been pitching well. Hopefully he will get a little rest in upcoming games. The team really needs to get some more reliable innings from someone besides Brebbia and Gant.

Gant doing more good work. Great to see. I do get a little scared for the next night when brebbia and Gant both pitch. But let’s win this one first

Gant walked Turner to lead off the inning, then hit the easy button on three straight batters. Time to stretch.

It would sure help if the starters would stretch it out a bit.

I thought we called up some guys to take the load off the pitchers a bit. if you cant trust them with a 4 run lead, when can you ever trust them. still great job by gant. hopefully someone else comes in next inning. wouldn’t hurt to get another run or two.

Sure would, Euro. Have we had a starter go 7 innings yet this year?

DeJong with a good night, draws another walk. An Ozuna blast sure would be nice.

I’m not sure what I just saw. I guess it was ozuna climbing the wall for a warning track fly ball

I know he could have gotten injured and it could also lead to a big inning but that was hilarious and stupid at the same time.

What the hell did Ozuna do that for? He did that last year, not quite as bad as this one though. Sorry that he got hurt, but his brain goes on a walkabout at times.

you got to throw strikes mayers, getting behind is not good.
