Ouch, glad that was no worse than it was.
April 28, 2021 at 8:36 pm in reply to: 2021 Cardinals MLB Game 24 thread – Wednesday, April 28 vs Phillies #159442De out tries to pull an outside pitch and rolls over on it. Do hitting coaches even work with guys to go to the opposite field anymore?

April 20, 2021 at 8:56 pm in reply to: 2021 Cardinals MLB Game 17 thread – Tue, April 20 at Nationals #158761We’ve been wanting a starter to give us more than 5 innings. Waino not only does but holds the other team to 1 run in 7 innings. Unfortunately, the bats, bullpen and manager gave him no help tonight. Bad loss or at least would be but with how this team is playing a poor loss.

April 20, 2021 at 8:39 pm in reply to: 2021 Cardinals MLB Game 17 thread – Tue, April 20 at Nationals #158750Not even close on any of those, left him in one batter to long.

April 20, 2021 at 8:26 pm in reply to: 2021 Cardinals MLB Game 17 thread – Tue, April 20 at Nationals #158735Kaboom – Waino deserves better from the bullpen and the bats tonight.

April 20, 2021 at 7:39 pm in reply to: 2021 Cardinals MLB Game 17 thread – Tue, April 20 at Nationals #158706Edman beats out the single despite a great play by Castro, then Goldy grounds into a double play to erase it.
How this team is, feast or famish. Making a bad pitcher look like Cy Young tonight.
April 20, 2021 at 7:12 pm in reply to: 2021 Cardinals MLB Game 17 thread – Tue, April 20 at Nationals #158697Wasn’t the Nats pitcher’s ERA over 20 coming into tonight?
April 15, 2021 at 1:39 pm in reply to: 2021 Cardinals MLB Game 12 thread – Wed, April 14 vs. Nats #158175The fact that Edman is HAVING to fill in in the outfield tells us a lot about development in the system. Yikes.
Agree gscottar, starting pitching is a mess right now. All those stud young arms we kept hearing about aren’t getting it done.April 14, 2021 at 8:52 am in reply to: 2021 Cardinals MLB Game 11 thread – Tue, April 13 vs. Nats #158096Maybe I will try to be playing softball more nights if this is what is going to happen. Granted our softball team looked like the the bad news bears last night.
April 12, 2021 at 9:16 pm in reply to: 2021 Cardinals MLB Game 10 thread – Mon, April 12 vs. Nats #157943I really think I owe John Mabry an apology. Damn this team struggles at the plate and has for years.
April 12, 2021 at 8:50 pm in reply to: 2021 Cardinals MLB Game 10 thread – Mon, April 12 vs. Nats #157929Do we have an outfielder that can hit his weight? What a depressing group that is and the fact that they are on the big league roster doesn’t say much for what’s in the organization.
And in Starting pitching that is good for 5 innings and well can you say .500 team?
Okay there is Arenado’s first RBI
Arenado gets his putout as a Cardinal. Now it’s time for his first HR
Hit the mascot
Hard to ask for a better 1st inning
Here’s hoping things start well today!
I missed more games this year because of my own ball, play three nights a week. Add in, people were/are looking for reasons to get out of the house right now.
As for the team, no need to watch, you know they will win a few and then loss that many and end up right about .500. Front office needs to do something to make folks excited about tuning in again. Watching 3 regulars hit below or right at .200 is not that.
And technically, the Cubs were eliminated before us so we have that going for us.
Last night the hitting was more than good enough, tonight the pitching was good enough. Just one of those years neither seemed to click on the same day. Pick up a bat or two and next year could be fun.
