Win or lose, for me the Blues play so hard and so fast at this point it doesn’t matter. I never question their effort, passion, and toughness. I want them to win it all but if they don’t I’ll appreciate their effort and their demeanor.
The red birds are the exact opposite…soft lazy, weak, and pathetic.9 hits in the last 23 innings. This team has no pride and a very bad culture. The poison that is this organization eats up anyone that joins.
A slump or a cold streak is a week or two but now becoming a month of the same concerns fans have had for 3 plus years makes it very hard to be optimistic. With the Cubs coming to town and how our boys fold their tents at the sight of the cubs line up only means this cowardice franchise will be in last place in a week. We are who we are and it is very soft.
A team and franchise of pretenders. It is Memorial Day and this team hasn’t won back to back games this month.
That’s the way to go out in the home half of the 9th and put pressure on the opposing team. 7 pitches and three pathetic outs. This team is beyond soft.
0-2 count to a walk. This is the problem.
This team has zero toughness and zero attack mentality. Go after the hitter. You are ahead in the count. Attack!At some point you are who you are. We all hope and wait for Carp to actually be good or Goldy to be what we were told he would be. It’s Memorial Day, the season started in late March and this is who they are. It isn’t just going to magically change and the three teams ahead of us they have better rosters top to bottom. They have men who hit the ball and we don’t. I truly believe it is a culture problem that pulls good players down- see Goldy. The culture of this team is soft and has been for years.
7-0 my lord this ball club is absolutely worthless. But the royals have done something the cardinals can’t do…win back to back games in May.
Cards will be 10 games out by June 1.In 2 1/3 innings the 16-31 royals have 6 hits. Theres a good chance the cardinals won’t get to that today. Now down 4-0 to a team 15 games below .500.
This team is great when they are up or down big. No pressure situations they perform. When it’s tight and someone needs to step up…nada.
Haven’t won back to back games since April 30 and May 1. Just not a good group of players and a bad culture.
Sorry- this is not a good ball club and the culture of this franchise is content with 3rd place or worse and looking up to better ball clubs that actually hit the ball and pitch in big series. The cubs- for weekend two in a row face a big series and they have shown up determined and hungry.
Well we have been right the last three years. Your easy going no big deal attitude is how this team plays and that’s why we will be right for the fourth year in a row. You baseball people that scream “it’s only one game” “it’s only May” you tend to disappear come September when this franchise is home for the holidays again. Every game counts the same no matter the date on the calendar. The Brewers and the cubs have men playing while we have pretenders on our roster.

This franchise and this team has a very bad culture and atmosphere to it. And has had this bad culture for multiple years. A true lack of leadership is very evident as the top players (or any players for that matter) rarely perform when it is needed in the time of the game when they are up against it. There never seems to be a sense of urgency or an attitude that they are going to attack and compete.
Championship teams and programs have a culture that errors and mistakes are not acceptable and are a big deal so teams avoid those mistakes because of a culture.
This franchise doesn’t have that because Moz has put together a bunch of soft players that have no sense of urgency and zero mental toughness. (See Sunday cubs game)
Goldschmidt shows up and is setting personal records in the negative way because this culture has consumed him. Heyward alluded to this atmosphere and culture problem when he left. It is very real. Show me a time this line up was hot for an extended period of time. There are plenty of examples of them being cold for weeks at a time. The lack of hitting had been evident for many years and hasn’t been addressed. At some point you have to put the computer stats down and battle. This team doesn’t battle. The cubs and brewers attack a series against us. Their demeanor is so much different than the cardinals. My opinion is that we have baseball guys that don’t know how to compete and shy away when the big boys attack and that makes them gutless.After what happened over the weekend getting embarrassed by your rival- coming home you’d think they’d play w a little more focus and fire. Not this team and not this franchise. This is a team of players that don’t know how to compete. They play with zero toughness and they are gutless.
What you are asking is for a team that really has zero men that are true competitors to actually have some fire inside and some pride. If you recall the cubs called out this city and team and this is the response the Redbirds give. But that’s all they can give. They are outmanned in every facet of the game against the cubs. The cubs have a demeanor of attack and they get very fired up to play the cardinals. They have a manager and a GM that attack the game. Cardinals are pretenders and are very soft.
This franchise will do zero under Moz. He is getting owned and it shows when the cards have to play the big boys. We have “on paper talent” but not true competitors that have any guts at all. Soft baseball players.
Men hitting versus timid soft boys hitting. At some point these cardinals need some leadership and mental toughness.
The difference is when we play the Marlins we won’t sweep them. The cubs have a
Focus and a toughness and a demeanor the cardinal franchise doesn’t have. They play hungry and with a chip on their shoulders. This club lacks real leadership and as I’ve stated this club has zero toughness.
