I’d love it, also. I truly don’t think they have it in them. The last 5 years except for one weekend they’ve really been owned by the Cubs. The Redbirds just fold their tents in when they see the boys in blue.
The Cubs players look like they live in the weightroom. Our little guys look like guys that talk and take it easy. That’s also how they play.
Just a soft team that really has no mental toughness. They’ve been backed into a corner the entire month of June and have never come out swinging with any intensity at all.
This front office has a player in Matt carpenter batting 183 and he continues to play week after week and year after year. They do not have any level of commitment or desire to be champions. This franchise puts hope in young players that do not make a splash on an elite level and just hope they will get better. If they aren’t making a huge impact they won’t in the future. Players are who they are.
Teams with front offices like the
cardinals don’t get what they want they get what they deserve. This group for 7 years now has underperformed and put a team on the field that is an also ran.Happy this team won the division and played in the NLCS. If you would’ve told me that in April I’d take it. Bad taste in mouth how this team got owned this week but in the end this team over achieved and we as fans had a fun last three weeks.
Wishful thinking but not optimistic- this no hit performance will convince our ownership this club needs men that swing the bat and actually lift weights.
I’m guessing we will hear the cliche simple minded baseball lines in post game…”tip your cap” and the rest of the easily predictable lines our team uses.
