1st and 2nd no outs is it against the law to sacrifice? Are we that arrogant? Runners on 2nd and 3rd and 1 out is an okay position to be in if down 1 run.
The “it’s just one game relax” attitude becomes who you are. Zero urgency zero focus zero commitment to excellence.
It’s just one game one series etc…It becomes who you are 100% of the time.
Flaherty is gutless. This team has zero sense of urgency and it all comes from leadership and the head coach. The cliche baseball mentality that “it’s just one game” “it’s a marathon” “relax” at some point takes over the culture of a team and that’s who you become 100% of the time.

Culture problem. Massive change needed all over the place. Clubhouse, front office, coaches office all need major overhauls. This is a franchise atmosphere problem.
For me it really isn’t wins and losses. They are just so soft and are truly gutless. It is a culture that will take massive changes to fix. It isn’t a one person fix. It’s a culture.
Kimbrel threw 13 pitches 9 were strikes.
Reyes threw 30 16 were strikes but a few of those were swings at balls. So it wasn’t that good of a ratio.The mentality and culture of this team is soft. That many walks w bases loaded shows the pitchers do not have it in them to compete and attack.They are scared to throw strikes. It has been a gutless team for years now and this is more proof. They have zero mental toughness.

Those other teams are looking at the cardinals saying they have a losing record we should beat them.
