Bang, bang play at second. Nice throw by Williams … right on the mark.

Carp looked a little emotional after his homer. I’m glad he finally got one to go over the fence. Here’s hoping he knocks quite a few more over in a nice swan song in St Louis.

When did Strasburg’s fastball drop to 90 mph? He’s a very different pitcher with reduced velocity.

Goldy juuuuust misses a 3 run jack. Now the bases juiced for Dejong. Make em pay, Paulie!!

Ouch, double play. Really could have used some more runs.

Well the game is on fox sports midwest tonight. First time this season it’s actually been on there for me
Been out but good to see the offense getting going though Dejong still not. Strasberg seems off but that’s ok.

When are we going to see Sosa? It would at least be a nice line in the boxscore, Sosa,ss.

He has to bring more production than this current version of DeJong.

Do we have anyone else who can play SS? I really feel like continuing to play Dejong at this point is doing him more harm than good! He looks awful and you can see the lack of confidence! He needs at least a few days off! Why is Sosa not being used at all?

Flaherty threw 6 strikes to Robles. Unfortunately, the ump called three of them balls. Jack finally gets the K looking to get out of the inning, but it looks like he’ll only to 5 innings this game.

It’s like Sosa is not even on the team. He is never used to pinch hit, or come in defensively.

And yes, the body language from DeJong looks bad. I can understand letting your vets have a chance to work their way out of slumps, but this is getting embarrassing.

I don’t know why the nats are sticking with strasberg. It’s apparent he isn’t healthy tonight. A good way to put your pitcher on the disabled list. Funny how once they coddled him so much they wouldn’t pitch him in the postseason.

Still don’t understand the Cardinals retiring numbers of Hall of Famers, but Joe Medwick’s #7 somehow sneaked through.

Bases loaded and no one out for Justin Williams. Time to add some runs, gents! That looks to be it for Strasburg for the night.

Funny thing on carpenter stopping in between second and third, he was so far off he would have been picked off at second if the guy had caught it, might as well keep running at that point.

Williams against the lefty! I would have let Jack go one more in this one. Bullpen has been taxed enough in the early going.

Dean up now. He seems to be the first preference over Nogowski. The count is now full…is he gonna get a pitch to drive?

Sac fly to CF. 7-1 Cards

Thomas Hyunsu Edman now up with a chance to do some damage. He’s in a 3-0 hitter’s count…and he walks.

How sweet would a granny for Goldy be here??

Carpenters results are finally catching up with his performance metrics.

He is now number 4 in Baseball with %Barrels

    Barrels

He has been so close a few times this season. They gave their SS an error on Carp’s bullet to SS at 105mph. Might be ruled a hit before day’s end.

You know you’d pitching is struggling when DeJong gets a hit.
