Is there a less productive 5 hole hitter in baseball than Dejong? I seriously doubt it! How long can we keep putting him in the 5 hole? It is terrible for the whole line up but makes it way worse for Arenado? I just wonder how long he gets a pass? He is hitting 180! Pitiful!
This Woodruff is a very fine pitcher. But he’s hittable too. I think even professionals can be fooled to some degree by reputations. And I think this is where a quality team psychologist would pay huge dividends.
Steve60… I think Yadi and DeJong should switch spots. I do believe DeJong will pick it up and end up batting 260 with 20 dings. His D has been better this year…

Why do some pitchers try to be all cute and play around with sub 200 hitters. Fortunately Pina got the green light on a 3-0 count and the pitcher will start off the 3rd
David I hope you are right about Dejong and 260! I just don’t see it though! If you look at his career it has been a steady decline with the batting average! He would almost have to hit 300 the rest of the year to get to 260 and I hope that happens, but right now all he does is hit a homer once a week and that’s about it! I just wonder how long they will go with him with a 180 average! I would hope of if we get 60 games in and he is still below 200 someone else is out there.
He hasn’t hit .260 since 2017.
I realize that but I’m a glass half full guy. It’s 2021. And this is a special team.
The one positive about Dejong for me is I have an enlarged prostate and can usually make it from one his at bats to the next so he has become my break and don’t have to watch the predicted results! Lol!
Family dinner time about to start. Tonight’s dinner is Chicken Picada with capers.. a fennel salad on the side, rolls and for dessert… cheesecake.

So much for my prediction tonight about Carlson amassing multiple extra base hits in this game. At this pace, the entire team may not get a hit of the extra base variety.
