Pitching was not good tonight. But our hitting is just awful!
Dakota was average, McF or Woodford missed spots. To Woodfords credit he had
zero time to warm up. McF, pitched only 8 pitches, then they call Woodford, tough to warm up
in 50 deg. weather in about 2 minutes.!

Woodford is again, flying under the radar… and has done well again in the first month this year.
But because he sits 92-94 with his fastball, thats not good enough for the metrics people of the world. I thought it came down to getting outs and limiting runs.? His repertoire is that of a starter with average or above avg. pitches: 4 seam, sinker, curveball, change and slider.
He simply needs more innings to stay sharp. His lack of use does not make any sense. If you want to see guys pitch, or want to ramp someone up..thats what AAA is for, not during games that count! Woodford needs a concrete position, whatever it is, he will embrace it and have success.
    Just my opinion.

Please trade Woodford so he can play and help another team win.
    He is being wasted..

Woodford is your 5th starter in the rotation!
    Miami is looking good.
    Hicks solid….stay healthy!

Woody has looked good this spring, of the 7 hits recorded against him, 3-4 would have been made if regualar starters had been in. Really only remember maybe 2 hard hit balls against him, alot of weak contact.
He needs to be the 5th starter, with Ver, as long man.

Wow. are you kidding me. Zach McAllister, 34 years old, last pitched in the big
league in 2018, with a 6.20 era. what are we doing..????

They need to let the younger up and coming players, who are trending in the right direction
get the chance. Woodford, Whitley, Rondon, Liberatore, Oviedo, Thompson.
Especially Woodford, who dominated the month of September last year, he is always under the
radar, but gets better every year.!

Agreed. signing too many older players who are trending in the wrong direction.

    Interesting match up tonight.
Woodford and Alonso were team mates
In Tampa. The 2013 Plant HS lineup
    Included;
    1st base – Alonso
    Pitcher – Woodford
    Outfield – Tucker
    Catcher-Woodford’s brother Now a attorney!
    That was a fun team.!

Jake will be a solid starter in MLB. He needs more starts and innings. His stuff is getting better all the time as he is a tireless worker. For most of his career he was mainly a sinker ball pitcher, only recently has he mixed in a good 4 seam and curveball. He can ramp up to 95-96, but sits around 90-93 which increases his control, which we all know is crucial to any pitcher; has proven in his last outing.

    Good point Brian on Woodford.
I think with our long relief he could offer some help as well… Ponce just not looking good..!
I think they may call Jake up for either role, soon. Happ..?

This is a true injustice to Woodford; who has been pitching very well in AAA, and can
actually offer something to the team. Dickson…who..? And why another catcher…to sit the bench..?
This are really both very illogical calls…unless somebody owes somebody…?

Woodford and Oviedo deserve more time to compete: both have MLB stuff, just need more consistency! Both can be big next year….plus both are solid and don’t get injured, unless most of the staff

Good points Pugs.. But, I do think for the pitchers getting to be around Waino is a plus.. as we are unsure about his future..?
