ParticipantIf Libby can’t locate, it will be a long game.. (or maybe a short one for him.). has had troubles lately.
If he can’t fix immediately, he needs to head south and work on command in aaa, not in majors.. unless the Cards are going to throw in the towel for this year..but I don’t think we are at that point yet, thx to the weak division.Lee
ParticipantRight 552, or get him back in the pen.. he actually was solid when in relief… he may not throw 100, but he is a better pitcher than some of the guys there now.
After his rehab stint, his last outing he was sitting 93-94, which when placed correctly is effective.Lee
ParticipantI saw Woodford was optioned to AAA with Yepez.
Woodford should be in the pen for Stratton or VH! or in rotation for Libby or Wainwright.Lee
ParticipantLibby is simply not ready yet. needs to go back to AAA for more work and polish.

last 3 outings:
vs. LA, 1 inng. 1 H, 2R, 1HB, 1BB
vs. CLE. 5 inns. 5 h, 4R, 1HB, 2BB
vs. TX. 4 inns. 7 H, 5R, 0HB, 2BB
————————————-
10 inngs. 13 hits, 11 runs, 2 Hit batters, 5 walks,
ERA = 9.!
Shows flashes of doing well, but is not consistent enough.Lee
ParticipantOn the mound, Jake Woodford made his second MLB Rehab start of the series. The right-handed hurler tossed 3.0 innings of scoreless, hitless baseball, walked one batter and struck out two.!
Lee
Participantright bling.
They need to replace Waino with Woody right now; give him a few starts and see if he can get going again as he did last season… but then the FO would have to admit to another mistake..probably never happen!
oh well, there’s always next year. I believe the playoffs are out of reach. Need to give the younger players time and get ready for 2024.Lee
ParticipantWoody looked good except he hung a curve ball on the first pitch to a batter for the 2 r.
Velo was good at 94.
Not bad for the first time back in almost a month.Lee
ParticipantLibby, had several hard hit balls, but right at our guys…. he was lucky in the first 4 innings, but it
caught up to him in the 5th. I think if he gets another start, (hopefully this time vs a team with a winning record!), I would like to see how he does. I don’t think he is ready yet.Lee
ParticipantStratton is awful. Cabby is awful. Waino is awful. Matz is the most awful. Jack is right behind them.
Makes you wonder how long they go with these guys, who simply are not getting it done. Libby should be in the rotation, and Woodford should be given another look. (shoulder soreness added to his issues.)
Get Thompson back up in place of Cabby. DFA Stratton and Verhagen… they are simply expendable.
They have to do something with the rotation and pen. The offense is ok, except send Burleson down, he is very hard to watch. Jordan should be back up. Mercado is an error waiting to happen, and his bat is coming back to reality. Lots of work to do.!Lee
ParticipantWhatever moves are made and whomever gets DFA’d, will get picked up by another team, coached properly and have a good career. Our coaches, are not good coaches; they mean well and try hard, but just don’t have the “it” factor for a coach. They are not getting the “Best” out of each player, instead they are content to put everyone in a bucket and say, ” ok, go get ’em.”.
Other teams will figure out what is best for the player, find little issues that turn out to be a big factor to make that player better.Lee

ParticipantGetting back in the game and Ollie hits Motter for Gorman.?????what is wrong with this guy..? Why is he managing this team.?
Unbelievable.Lee
Participantwhen our lead off guy is 0-4 and hitting a dismal .214. this doesn’t exactly set the tone…!!
Nootbar .214
Burleson .220
Oneil .239
We need better hitters. certainly it was Gio last night, but leaving a guy on 3rd base with no outs, should not happen.Lee
ParticipantWe miss Yadi more than most think..! He was a much better game caller than our current catcher.
And with the pitch clock, shaking off and getting a new sign only puts more pressure on the pitcher as the clocks ticks down to zero.Lee
ParticipantBrian, can you answer this one..?
———-
One question. and I’m a little ashamed that I don’t know this, but…
last night, a batter hits the ball to Tommy, who fails to make the play. a few pitches later, runner attempts to steal 2nd, throw from the catcher isn’t even close, ball goes past infield to the outfield and runner goes to 3rd, Dylan then misses scooping up the ball and it gets past him, runner then goes home and scores without a play..?? How is this run Earned.?? two errors on the play and its the pitchers fault.?Lee

Participantwe should all be like Jnevel. at least for one game…or maybe until we finish this road trip.

ParticipantWoodford did a very good job tonight. Should have only been the 1 run in 5 1/3, and if the errors are cleaned up, he very well could have gotten the quality start….
I keep hearing Waino is coming back to save the club..??? As much as I would like to see that, I just don’t think a guy topping out at 87 mph, is gonna be a savior, not this time. But I guess his history will dictate his spot in the rotation.
Matz really needs a solid outing, he keeps getting hit; alot like Miles.
Verhagen is starting to come undone as well, his last several appearances have not been good at all!
Should be an interesting next week or so to see what moves are made.
But as everyone keeps saying, its early, keep the faith. Its just getting harder with each loss.Lee
ParticipantWoodford actually pitcher pretty well. got ahead in most at bats, he had 2-3 pitches
he left up in the zone and got hit hard.. Hopefully he remembers this and learns.. I think the pitches he left up had been on 0-2 counts too.! better off spiking in the dirt.Lee

ParticipantIt is a necessity to have someone like Woody in the pen to help eat up innings. The starters simply are not going long enough. This should be a no brainer. please drop Hicks, he looks and acts like he is pouting… he needs to work on his pitching in aaa, then come back… or go elsewhere.
Lee
ParticipantWoodford wasn’t his sharpest, but sure as heck did a great job. scattering 7 hits and 3k’s..AND ZERO RUNS! not allowing runs is the goal. don’t need to pay attention to other stuff it takes care of itseltf.
Lee
ParticipantBurle son is only playing because noot is hurt
Lee
ParticipantJnevel. You are very lost. Must have been drinking all night…!
