Just a good read about a guy that has continued to work and has earned the respect of most. I know him well…
dblackParticipantKyle Leahy seems to be doing ok….
dblackParticipant
dblackParticipantHere are two thoughts that the Cardinals have been willing to share. . Number one is the plan to reduce payroll by possibly eliminating veteran players who have large contracts and bringing up the younger minor league players who may or may not be ready. Number two is that the organization has fired people who have been in charge of player development that are perceived to have done a poor job of developing these minor leaguers who are the ones that will replace the veterans. Not sure how that makes any logical sense.

Former Cardinal James Naile was the starting ace for this KBO team. He was pitching extremely well.
dblackParticipantThanks Bling. I thought that didn’t look right…
dblackParticipantSaw where Middleton threw 6 pitches with one strike and walked the only batter he faced last night for Springfield. Is that right? Any news on that?
April 22, 2024 at 2:08 pm in reply to: StL 2024 Game #22 thread – Sunday, April 21 vs. Brewers #249095
dblackParticipantNot sure what thread to share this information but here is my math with Milwaukee at 14-6 with 142 to play and the Cards are 9-13 with 140 to play. If the Brewers play .500 baseball (71-71) the rest of the year their record would be (85-77). The Cards would have to go (77-63) in their last 140 to be (86-76). If Milwaukee were to win 5 more games than this scenario the Cards would have to go (82-58) just to pass the Brewers. And this is just to catch one team above you. Hoping for the best…
dblackParticipantAfter Fight for $350M in Memphis Stadium Funds, Dust Finally Settling
In December, 2023, the AAA affiliate in Memphis was left out of a $350 million grant to help renovate Autozone Park. The stadium could have used all of the money…
dblackParticipantAwesome information with a personal touch because of video. Tone of discussion is very relevant and you do not see or hear that in print. Loved it…
dblackParticipantObviously, neither Walker nor Gorman were moved because they couldn’t play 3rd base. They were moved because they are MLB talent with no clear path to the big club. I am interested to see how well Walker can hit big league pitching. The ball coming off his bat, quite frankly, makes a different sound than all others I’ve seen play. He should have a tremendous career in MLB.
dblackParticipantHe may not be a prospect but he has a damn good story.
dblackParticipantDan McLaughlin Cardinals, Bio, Wiki, Age, Height, Wife, Leaving Cardinals, Salary, and Net Worth
Been broadcasting at local level all my life and Danny Mac had a great job. But I’m not sure that he has made millions of $$$$. Only a guess…
dblackParticipantThank you!
dblackParticipantWhat is the criteria for voting? Is this list performance based, potential (projection) based, age based, analytically results based, or just opinion based. Or, I guess it could be a combination of all of these. I have seen many of these upper level guys play. Interesting to read and learn about the young prospects in the organization who I have not seen play.
dblackParticipantApparently this guy has lots of potential and his agent is a great salesman…I saw him pitch 4-5 times last year.
dblackParticipantPitchers are stronger, more powerful, throw harder, and train more fearlessly during the off season. The shear force, stress, and torque that a pitcher places on their arm and shoulder during the throwing motion seems to be more than the body can withstand. But I do believe that the technology with more research, knowledge, training protocols, and upgraded throwing programs have prevented more injuries. Pitching takes its toll for sure.
dblackParticipantThe human element has already been mostly reduced with reviewable calls on safe-out calls and other questionable calls. Video technology and review has eliminated many wrong calls and confirmed many more right calls. The discussion has always been human element vs getting it right. I miss managers arguing with umpires, but not seeing this as often is “part of the game” now. Plus, most all sports have some type of video review. There are no perfect solutions but these subjects give the fans something to discuss on boards just like this one. Without technology at our fingertips we would actually not be able to participate on these boards. Life changes, we adapt, and everything is ok. And, I like the electronic strike zone ….
dblackParticipantMy bad…just saw the post on Plummer.
dblackParticipantShould be interesting matchup…..
dblackParticipantMore international players or less?
dblackParticipantPalante and Pike should piggyback tonight.
dblackParticipantCan anybody tell me where he is if he not listed on the Memphis roster? Taxi squad maybe?
dblackParticipantWoodford is listed back with St Louis.
dblackParticipantI believe that Bostick in no longer in the organization.
