Nobody needs a dozen different uniform styles. With all this whining about reducing costs, just return to the old white suits for home games and grays on the road. Then perhaps we could even knock a dime off the price of a beer.
And as long as I’m out there whining today, am I the only one who detests organ music at ball parks? I say get rid of the organ and the organist and save another couple of nickels.

I abandoned all thinking about playoffs a good while back, concluding that entertaining such nonsense is deleterious to the digestive system, seeking instead such morsels of joy that occasionally fall from the table in the form of series wins against good teams and whipping up on the bottom feeders.

Ollie doesn’t appear concerned at all by the performance of his team. Complacence seems to be the name of the game. “What? Me worry?” After all, he’s got another year’s salary coming in 2026 and management has made it clear that winning isn’t a priority. Let’s spend our energy thinking up new uniform ideas.

Sadder yet, not only do we have a mediocre team there is little evidence management is making a serious effort to become a better team. Keeping Mo on for a year-long going-away party simply wasted an entire season. Sigh!
NYquist: Christmas time chez nous we always went around in advance shaking our packages to see if they were rattlers or rustlers, hoping for a lot of the former. I’m afraid this trade deadline we came away with mostly rustlers.
I’m seeing some positive assessments of this trade but I just don’t like it. Seems we’ve given up one of our few genuine assets for a bunch of maybes somewhere down the dusty road. But I’m not a good judge of the deep minor leagues and perhaps these guys are real hidden gens.
I’m not sure Rat, but I think it might have something to do with our lack of hitting, then again I could be wrong.
How long is it reasonable to suffer through lengthy periods of mediocrity, with occasional brief spurts of power, before we decide to cut bait? At what point must a team make up its mind that it has looked long enough at young players like Gorman and Walker, who appear to have the tools to develop into at least slightly above average regulars but haven’t, three years, four years?
