Mr. Marmol, plz take your blinders off for one game and let Dr. Pozo catch McG.

I did not lose the faith in our struggling ball club, lust having PC trouble. I finally broke down and bought a laptop and it works damn good.

Now to see if the image problems are gone…

I wonder how much impact Yadi will have on the walk up gate.

Business has been slow at the ballpark. The whole idea is to drum up some weak ticket sales for the Cubs series and came directly from the office of the marketing execs. The announcement of the pending presense of the future HOF’er ought to sell a few seats and a couple of those Molina themed Pina Coladas…

And the idea that the current Redbird manager “invited” him as a “guest coach” is beyond laughable. I genuinely feel a bit sorry for the little whiz-kid. I’m reasonably certain he’s utterly humiliated at the prospect of having someone situated in the dugout during a game who’s been rumored to be his replacement. It just ain’t a nice thing to do to the little guy.

I wonder how much impact Yadi will have on the walk up gate.

Judging by the availability in the 300-400 and some of the 200 sections tonight almost none.

let’s just say a jump in attendance from the previous series they played has almost nothing to do with Molina being here and more with a little better weather. Plus why announce it so late if you wanted to take advantage of his aura and greatness? You’d announce that 2-3 weeks ago.

According to Katie Woo, Yadi called Mo at the beginning of the season and asked if he could be in the dugout for this series because it lined up well with his schedule. And Mo asked Ollie if he was good with that and he said yes. I don’t know if that’s the full true version or not, but it does seem likely that it was scheduled back before the start of the season. And I agree with Booyah here, if the team really wanted to make this a full-on publicity stunt, they would have announced it a week ago and not waited until today. Will they happily take a few more walk-up tickets? Sure. But I don’t think they wanted it to be a distraction prior to this series.

With both Herrera and Burleson in the lineup I am not sure the logic of playing Burly in LF rather than Herrera.

Well, the script remains intact with Pages/McG. Even with Mo gone next season, these type decisions from Oli are established, almost chiseled in stone.

A fresh look at our players from different managemant is a must for me. Different voice, philosopy and evaluations. Turn the page.

Well, we’ve got the marvelous Manny ll manning up in CF tonight. I have to acknowledge that the Redbirds FO always seems to supply the roster with at least one spectacular Manny, and they’ve really outdone themselves with this one. I have to think that Willie Jr. and Johnny always see to it that they pull out all the stops when it comes to providing the loyal Cardinal fanbase with a first rate Manny!

According to the info I sourced, Garrett Hampson’s salary is a shade over $1.5M this year and he’s earned a total of $8.1M during his illustrious 8 season Big League career. Think about that for a second. Where else in the world can you be one of, if not the, absolute worst performers in the tradecraft in which you perform for a living and still be entitled to them kind of potatoes? It ain’t a bad shake being a Manny.

If the bottom 1/3 of the order gets 2 hits tonight we should be dancing in the streets even if we get blown to bits. Maybe Pages will do something special for his Yadi Daddy tonight. Lol

Yep, those last three are pretty much automatic outs.

If you are the Cubs and looking at the Redbirds lineup tonight you should be having a fit of ecstasy.

A quick glance at the standings makes clear that the Cardinals could really put the screws to any hopes that the rival Cubs have of catching the Brewers in the NLC. At 4 games off the pace, the Cubs can’t afford to lose too much more ground if they don’t want to be relegated to second rate WC status.

To my thinking this game is just about how McGreevy does.

Who’s this Thompson guy? 154? ba. Saw him blow an ab last night too. If he can’t hit the ball he needs to bunt and quit causing damage! Maybe he can catch?
