And one run on Saturday night.
Three runs last night.
And now only one run through five innings tonight.
That’s what happens when you don’t have anybody that can hit.
And failed to score a run.
Still 1-0 after six innings.
Reds lost tonight so they need to win this one. They can win it if they can score a few runs. And to score runs they need some hits. And to get those hits they need players that can hit. Which they don’t have.
And now a bunt single and another error by Gorman.
Then a single to CF and the Rockies have them at the corners with nobody out.
Score now tied 1-1.
Rockies have a runner at 2nd with one out.
Gorman deserved an error on the bunt throw. However, Contreras didn’t help by already being anchored with his feet on first and not being able to attempt to knock the throw down.
Cardinals may play the role of spoilers and slow down the Rockies in their quest for the all time record for frustration and defeat.
Looks like the Brewers are 6 outs away from hanging their 10th consecutive W up on the board and extending their lead in the NLC to 6.5 games ahead of the also ran Cubs.
Many may recall that the great Lou Brock was knocked down by a high and tight purpose pitch from Dennis Lamp prior to ripping a waist high laser right back up the box on the very next pitch that nearly seperated Lamp’s pitching hand from his wrist and placed him in the trainer’s room of the visitor’s clubhouse at Busch Memorial Stadium…I watched it live on TV and it was perfectly obvious that it’s a real bad idea to mess around with Lou when he’s going for number 3000!
Helluva hit by Donnie baseball drives in 2 before Pozo lines out to third to double up Donovan. How unfortunate on that one. Need to hold this one.
Ollie stays with Leahy who would get the win in this one rather than the save.
That’s consecutive W’s which constitutes a streak and also vaults our Redbirds to within 3 games of the coveted 3rd WC…
Contreras is no gold glover at 1B but my goodness Gorman has been atrocious at 3B lately. Maybe it’s just rust. I hope that is all it is because they are running out of places for him to play.
Are the Brewers ever going to lose another game? In some ways it doesn’t bother me because that means the Cubs can’t win the division.
In their last 30 games they’re only 26-4, so I’m guessing they’ll eventually lose another game or two.

I agree. It also seems to me that Saggese, with albeit a small sample size, is starting to play better. Maybe he will be getting Gorman’s runway…..
At this point do we really know what Gorman is and will be? At this point, I feel like he will be the first victim of the infield logjam.

I would suggest on a Greyhound heading south.
Gorman leads the club in HR% and BB%. That bums gotta go. How he survived the deadline is a mystery.
