After Thursday’s day off…
7:15 p.m.
RHP Andre Pallante (6-9, 4.95) vs. RHP Luis Gil (0-1, 7.27)
Fanduel // KMOX // WIJRAugust 14, 2025 at 7:33 pm #290546FYI here,
The Cubs lost on Thursday 2-1 to Toronto at the Rogers Centre. They are now eight (8) games behind Milwaukee.Milwaukee goes to Cincinnati to play the Reds three games at Crosley Field this weekend. The Cubs host the Pirates this weekend at Wrigley Field.
The Doyers are in San Diego to face the Padres for three games at Jack Murphy Stadium.
And din din this Friday will indeed be a CCFF out at the Amish restaurant – Lakeview – that overlooks the lake north of town.
And since there are no late games tonight me and Whitey Herdog will be watching an episode of The Streets of San Francisco.

August 14, 2025 at 9:19 pm #290547I don’t think Mets fans are real happy with Helsley
August 15, 2025 at 10:44 am #290559A very interesting "What if?" article from the @NYDailyNews about the Yankees SP facing the #STLCards tonight at Busch. If not for a tragedy, RH Luis Gil could have been a Cardinal. https://t.co/SpNNpVgzYO

August 15, 2025 at 11:26 am #290561We might not see Goldy this weekend.
Paul Goldschmidt's return to Busch Stadium could be in jeopardy after sustaining a low-grade right knee sprain during Tuesday's game

August 15, 2025 at 11:45 am #290562Great, just great. The Brewers and Reds play tonight in Cincinnati and I was going to watch the first few innings of that one. But it’s the STUPID Apple TV game and I won’t be able to see it.
I wish MLB had those STUPID Apple, Peacock, Roku, Amazon, whatever, games stuck up their youknowwhat.
August 15, 2025 at 1:55 pm #290569Willson Contreras (foot contusion) is out of the #STLCards lineup for a second straight game. Alec Burleson starts at 1B, while Lars Nootbaar, Victor Scott II and Jordan Walker are in the outfield. Masyn Winn is elevated to No. 2 in the order, while Iván Herrera hits cleanup. pic.twitter.com/FcXW4n36Bd

August 15, 2025 at 2:44 pm #290573I don’t think tonight’s pitching matchup will come anywhere close to overshadowing something along the lines of Gibson/Ford. Furthermore, neither one of these teams are anything to get get too amped up over. Oh well, the uniforms should at look nice if they dress out in accordance with tradition.
August 15, 2025 at 2:51 pm #290575Unfortunately the Cardinals tend to wear those silly red jerseys on Friday night home games then the cream jerseys on Saturday home games and then the powder blues on Saturday away games. The powder blues are ok I guess but I think our home jerseys should be white with “Cardinals” on the front with the birds on the bat instead of “St. Louis” or “The Lou”. I am a traditionalist when it comes to uniforms. Give me the white unis and the gray unis.
We held out for a long time on these alternate jerseys but finally succumbed to the pressure.
August 15, 2025 at 3:01 pm #290576You have to kidding? The Cardinals won’t be wearing traditional home whites to show reverence for the glorious NY Yankees? I genuinely hope the Bombers refuse to take the field in an act of protest against such a blatant display of disrespect! That’ll teach that little upstart Willie Jr. and his minions a valuable lesson regarding baseball protocol…
August 15, 2025 at 3:06 pm #290577The Cardinals should be showing reverence to their own fans and to their own history regardless of who the opponent is.
August 15, 2025 at 3:07 pm #290578In addition to the regular @FanDuelSN_MW broadcast, you can catch tonight's Cardinals game FREE over-the-air on @KMOV and the following outer market affiliates!

August 15, 2025 at 3:55 pm #290580They used to offer up a little reverence to the BFIB. But Willie Jrs. mad at them now and no longer cares. Rumor has it that he’s negotiating a move to the city of Knoxville. The new city connect duds will read, “The Hard Knox”…
August 15, 2025 at 3:57 pm #290581This one looks like a lop-sided win for the Bombers with Pallante starting for the home club. I see it along the lines of 8-2, New York.
Speaking of odd uni’s, the Cubs had on some baby blue jerseys today in their latest loss, a 3-2 setback at the hands of the Pittsburgh Pirates. Really looked odd seeing them in those baby blues. They must have the blues these days with the Crew running away and hiding from everyone else in the NLC.
August 15, 2025 at 4:04 pm #290582And the Cubs lose again. The Pirates come away with a 3-2 win today at Wrigley. After the Brewers/Reds game tonight the Cubs will either be eight games out or nine games out.
The NL Central is all but wrapped up for Milwaukee.
August 15, 2025 at 4:17 pm #290583Not sure where to throw this, so will put it here. My step sons have a buddy in town who lives in St. Louis and is a big Cardinals and Blues fan. He and the boys are camping and hiking in the Rockies for a few days.
I asked him about the low attendance at Cardinal games these days and he said yeah, “the narrative is pretty negative right now”. Basically the good will the club had built has largely evaporated. He also said he thinks management sunk too much capital into Ballpark Village, and it is not generating the revenues they hoped and thus it is sucking money that would have otherwise been available for enhancing the ball club.
Anyway, thought I would throw that out there.

jj-cf-stlParticipantPages/Pallante gives Pages some blocking duty if Andre bounces a pitch per batter.
August 15, 2025 at 4:36 pm #290585UPDATE:
Jack Suwinksi homered in the 9th to break a 2-2 tie today at Wrigley.August 15, 2025 at 4:44 pm #290587Nobody needs a dozen different uniform styles. With all this whining about reducing costs, just return to the old white suits for home games and grays on the road. Then perhaps we could even knock a dime off the price of a beer.
And as long as I’m out there whining today, am I the only one who detests organ music at ball parks? I say get rid of the organ and the organist and save another couple of nickels.
August 15, 2025 at 4:51 pm #290589Donovan is a scratch due to his foot. That and his groin injury earlier this week hopefully get him on the 10-day to heal.

They do not view it as an expense, but as revenue opportunity by providing different choices to fans who buy jerseys.
August 15, 2025 at 5:13 pm #290591The Cubs lose again today. Such a crying shame. I hate that for them.
August 15, 2025 at 5:20 pm #290592I always liked to hear old Ernie Hayes amping up the fans with the rally organ, CIF. What bothers me is the agonizing blare of the silly recorded music that the fans are subjected to these days. It’s literally excruciating and was seemingly without relent at the last game I attended which happened to be against the Yankees in August of ’22. Every lousy rendition that screams from the loudspeakers seems to be from some rotten second rate act with a name like Puffy Doggy Ditty Snoopy Mutt Misery…The garbage they play would genuinely give a woodpecker a headache. I’ll take Ernie Hayes and his rally organ any day over the awful noise they blast into the air these days.
August 15, 2025 at 5:53 pm #290593One of the things that I thoroughly dislike about the Cubs is their owner, Tom Ricketts. All he does is bellyache about the money he’s been spending. Too bad, Tommy boy, and the rest of your clan. Tom Ricketts is responsible for depriving the Cardinals of their small market compensation pick by changing the rules just to hurt the Cardinals. What a cheap shot! Granted. The Cubs won the World Series n 2016, but I doubt if they’ll win another one for the next 108 years.
August 15, 2025 at 6:09 pm #290594Yeah, I don’t like anyone named after a disease…
