So, last year all over again with NA out and JJ in. How many fans will pay to see last year again.

They won’t drive to see it from 1-2 hours away. That’s where they really lost their fans after the trade deadline in 2023.

Our fans have checked out. The cubs and brewers have more loyal followers than we do now. Let that sink in for a second. Just shows how entitled and fairweather the bfib really were this whole time.

For me I Might make a couple games this year in late April or early May or Late Septmeber. Really Just hate baseball in hot weather. Wish we had a dome. Peoria is an hour away and I’ll take in 3-4 games this season. Likely in the same time frame if the weather cooperates.

If JJ for example is the real deal. Do you see the Cardinals handing out a 11 year $289 million dollar deal to him? I mean maybe the mindset on payroll changes if they start to compete and get some butts back in the seats. KC had no problem with handing Witt that money but you know they backloaded it with player and club options for either party to get out if they wanted to explore other options. Witt’s contract has player opt outs starting in 2031 to 2034

I think a good ceiling for payroll if we get this rig rolling in a couple seasons is about between where the reds are now and where the Angels are at. Not even really thinking about inflation, new cba, salary floor or lockout etc.

I mean let’s not fool ourselves. Bloom is here to do a job and do it on a budget. The Dewitt conglomerate runs the team like a business. Draft, develop, extend when needed and trade when the going gets tough to restock the farm. Wash, rinse, repeat. The new Cardinal Way.

Herrera is no longer participating due to insurance issues.

Castellanos has some major baggage I don’t think a young, rebuilding team wants. Stuff he admits to and others the team and his former mates didn’t like. That and like Cutch really doesn’t play the field but hey we have Jon Jay the miracle worker. Lol

Idk man. Seems like a trade isn’t likely unless Romwro is dealt. They might go down that Pham-Grichuk road. They do have time to decide on that.

Each club’s in-market, direct-to-consumer streaming option delivers all local games to subscribers located anywhere in the club’s home territory, removing local blackouts. Information on cable and satellite providers, including specific channel locations, will be announced at a later date.

53 prospects. Ledbetter seems like a throw in at 46.

Much talk about nothing, at least as long as BDW Jr. is still with us.

It assumes the Dewitts will want to sell. Which they’ve been on the record as not selling.

I can’t wait for the rebuild to work. I know almost all of you can’t sit through it.

All rosters for WBC are in the 2nd link. Bader is suiting up for Isreal. Matt Holiday is the hitting coach for Team USA.

Brian just want to point out that im having issues with the screen freezing up for moments when people are posting videos or snippets from X. Will freeze for 20-30 sometimes. I’m posting from my phone.

Not Herrera. The other day, Bloom mentioned Saggese and Fermin as possibilities.

Maybe the Italians will give Tommy some reps in the OF in the WBC. Lol

Well we could pivot back to our old pal Tommy Pham. Lol otherwise its the Mexican league or trade for someone.

I don’t really need to see Randall KK Grichuk again or weak ass Austin Slater.

Depends what you consider Top shelf. Matthews I don’t think is even in a top 100 list.

None of these guys will see the Majors for at least 2 years. If we get a mid rotation arm and at worst a 4th OF put of this we should be happy.

The key is the picks IMO. We don’t draft as high this year. So those balance picks will be important.

I think Chaim did ok here. I’d give it a B at first look.

Unless it comes via trade with Romero then it’ll likely be Andujar.

Miguel Andujar might still fit. His last three teams have been the Pirates, A’s, and Reds so it isn’t like he is used to playing for a world series contender.

One would believe this will be the pivot. Can play against lefties at 3rd and can be moved to each corner. Swiss army knife at the corners. We may not even have Noot to start the season. Haven’t really heard much. Not sure Donny gets dealt until the offer just blows Chaim away.

Where is Quinn Matthews? Has he fallen that much?

I’d like to see more of Baez. His Springfield numbers are on point but let’s see how he goes into AAA.

About as good of a landing spot as he could get. I sort of predicted this.

    Anybody want to wager here?

I’m betting that Arenado puts up the following or better:

    .260
    25 HR
    80 RBI

It won’t be because he got away from St.Louis. Quit fanning the flames!

    He was a good cardinal.

The one thing I remember about him was the 2021 season when he went in front on the cameras and said ” we have to quit blowing games like this”.

Love the guy. He wanted to be here.

I mean they signed someone. Lol

Hopefully Roycroft is Jettisoned. Fernandez would be my next choice. He’s been horrible since the 2nd half of 2024.

Reasonable being free 1964? I don’t know how you get your ball televised.

They’ll get it figured out but as was poined out. If the Cardinals take over the broadcasts you’ll have some costs to get it going and some bumps along the way.

I would absolutely not trade Crooks. Nice balance at the 2.

Unless Herrera just a complete turnaround on defense my guess is we carry 3 catchers heading in and he plays OF-DH most of the time.

The ownership has Bloom for a reason. To save them some money in the current and revamp this farm system. It will be interesting to see if they team suddenly shows potential past an 82-84 win teama if they indeed extend players early and throw money into some free agency. I think part of is they are a little gunshy based on some financial constraints based on the revenue streams and attendance issue.
