I Think there’s more to the Arenado thing. I think it has a realistic chance of happening if the haul is good and naturally a certain 2 way guy ends up staying put or heading out of LA.

Far as moving Walker to 3rd. We better figure it out. If we keep Goldy and give him another year on his deal. First would be blocked and DH might be blocked by then as well when the eventual move of Willson to DH would likely happen. Walker’s bat plays but his glove is awful in the OF.

This above is also assuming Contreras isn’t moved to South Florida. Rumor has some legs.

I think Tyler and Jordan are going to stay put.

Gorman is at least hit or miss. That’s why you pinch hit him there.

    Two questions:

First, have we really annointed Tyler O’Neill as the starting LFer now?

Second, if we have done that, why did we do that???

Can’t up trade value for someone if they aren’t playing.

Let’s hope he hits .250, hits 2-3 homers and doesn’t get hurt.

. At the end of the year there’s 10 games in a row out of the NL Central. What sort of thing is this schedule?

Not really that hard to figure out. The divisions really don’t matter any longer in the World of Manfred.

In September the 3 game road trip is odd. To Toronto no less. With no day off before or after.

It’s not like they’re flying to London. I mean it’s 2 hours by plane.

    Another 1 run loss.

Absolutely pathetic performance from the bullpen. However Oli decides to use 2 AAA guys and look what happened.

Someone’s ass needs to get fired! You think this happens under Maddux? Someone needs to go! Wouldn’t mind a couple guys getting fired. I think you can figure out who needs to go.

Quit looking at the standings. This team would have to have an unbelievable run.

This team is done. If it got a couple games below .500 it would be a miracle.

In our position the best player available. Whoever it is can’t miss. Think there’s a lot of pressure on our scouts to get some stuff done.

And yeah it might be 3 years down the road but a lot of the teams in our division have stepped up via minors. It will be a highly competitive division IMO looking ahead. Young talented division with potential.

I thought Hicks had things figured out. What a pathetic throw.

    It’s effing embarrassing!

And if you want to blame a curse for things. At least called the Curse of Dan McLaughlin or Bagdad Dan or Ham head Dan. Lol coincidence I think not.

I would like to see the threads from the latter part of August in 2011 when we were about ten games out of the last wildcard spot.

Not sure I recall how that season ended up?

I’m sure about 50% of the mob wanted TLR gone. This board wasn’t even around back then.

Honestly I don’t see us doing much but if you’re bring Baker up for another looksie then they could be kicking the tires on Goldschmidt.

We make deals my guess is it’ll be for prospects although the Ludwick-3 way deal to get Westbrook was about as neutral as it got.

I mean teams may see value in players who they can plug in at DH. Yepez, O’Neill Baker and Burleson might have value on a low end scale. DeJong could bring salary relief and a middle of the road prospect in a team desperate enough to need a glove man who can swat a homer now and again.

Regardless we need to trim some fat. We got Contreras on the books another 4 years and pretty sure he’ll be DH or at first when Goldschmidt departs however that ends up.

It’ll hurt watching Skippy run rings around Oli. I’m sure the brass will hand down directives to not show the skipper of the other team as much as possible.

Bad loss for sure and the bullpen ERA show some problems but they can still win the series tomorrow.

The pitching is bad but when you score that much you should win. Let’s hope they do that at least. They’ve got to after that mess.

If we want eat most of his remaining salary. I think the Yankees could want DeJong. They seem desperate for help on the infield. Might even snag a low level prospect out of it.

The Astros are not what they used to be.

And Judge is out for the Yankees. That lineup is not the same without him.

I see us taking four of these six games.

The Reds go to Baltimore for a three game set starting on Monday. They’ve lost two in a row and I can see them having a little bit of a tailspin.

The Brewers start a four game set at Shea Stadium against the Mets.

And the Pirates have a three game set with the Padres before hosting the Brewers this coming weekend.

I can see us gaining some ground this week.

Yeah a game or 2 possibly.

Don’t discount the Astros. They aren’t at 106 win clip but they’re still pretty good.

That is a .682 clip if you are keeping score at home.

    Snot happening.

We’re aware. If they won 81 games it would be viewed as a victory.

Nice to know Waino and this team suck at home and abroad.

Waino didn’t do anything wrong by coming back. The front office gave him $17 millions reasons to say yes. That is on them!

I’ve obviously seen the Redbirds play many times at Busch II and Busch III
I’ve been there with my (first) wife and my daughter.

So you’ll be there with the 2nd wife this weekend? Lol

Love the name btw. I thought maybe you had consumed many bottles of Olde English 800 Malt Liquor back in the day and that’s where you came up with it. Lol

Is Walker’s glove that good to replace an MVP and multiple time gold glover?

They’ve won 2 series in a row. Right now you take that. However I get worried that when they do lose a series they’ll get back in a funk. They need to reverse that a bit.

Starters and bullpen really need to hunker down. It’s too inconsistent at this point to say you’ll get 3 straight quality starts in a row followed by 3 good showings from the pen . I mean today you had a good showing from the starters and pen. It can’t always be about them. In a game like today you need to scratch together a couple runs and they couldn’t do it.

I just don’t see Gorman as a high average guy. Might be a little dated but for him I think just hitting .250 would be a huge help for him Numbers wise and confidence wise. He also K’s a ton and I don’t think that is really going away either.

At this point he has nothing left to prove in the minors. You might not play him as much now that Noot is back. Unfortunately matchups don’t seem to be helping either but you try and put him in a place to succeed without taking too many AB’s away but I think you need to take a couple days worth for now.
