If Piscotty is DL’d then we likely see Sierra again one would think.

This is how I thought we come out of the gate. Still on a holiday and sluggish.

This road trip isn’t going to end well. I have a feeling Lynn might be a target of the Yankees. Would Tyler Wade be a good starting point? Would that be considered an overpay?

I think he might be on the dl and in the minors for longer than we think.

Unless Stanton just completely tanks he’s going to opt out of his deal. So we’re only going to be on the hook for 3 years unless he just pulls a Heyward.

Maybe Stanton never makes it here but everyone knows what we need. Some just assume to play it out with what we’ve got in house. I hope you like getting lapped by the Cubs and Brewers.

We wouldn’t. It’s overkill and my guess his he’ll hit the DL sometime after Duke returns.

And I don’t even want to see them not use him. We have 13 pitchers for a reason and if he’s going to be used every 4 days due to concerns about injury and diminished velocity then Weaver should’ve been kept.

IT’s the minors man. What did you expect?

Weaver didn’t pitch and Sherriff faced one guy. Kelly went 1-1

I think the hope was when Fowler was ready to assume a corner role it was either Grichuk turning a corner and possibly assuming the role back in CF or one of the young bucks takes over. No one should’ve ever thought he was going to be a CF for the entire part of his deal.

I don’t hate the Fowler deal. I think he can be a 20 homer 70 rbi .350 OBP guy for the majority of his deal even thought he’s not a rbi guy (he was projected to drive in a career high this year by one site). But that still doesn’t solve the issue that had plagued this team for over 2 years. We don’t have a legit clean up hitter and we don’t have one in our organization upcoming.

I really think we should make a play for Stanton. That’s the guy that can fill a void for a couple years. Yelich is a nice player but he doesn’t fit what this team really needs.

    The new CBA

And I actually threw out an interesting scenario of a Tie in about the 8th inning.

I’m happy our guys showed well.

Looking at whom could be traded off the team It’s clear Lynn and Oh are the 2 that stand out.Now other names are popping from people like Gyorko, Wong, Carpenter, Duke. It’s interesting to think about what they could fetch.

My feeling is this team isn’t a contender but they can’t really do anything until they see how the team plays coming out of the break on the 10 game road trip. IF they stumble in the first 2 series then my guess is they’ll look to trade Lynn and Oh by the deadline. I don’t think they’ll deal Carpenter unless they’ll be blown away by a deal. Wong I think is in a same position and honestly I think we need to keep our high OBP guys in hopes of landing a big fish(see what I did there) in the off season. Duke might fetch something at the waiver deadline. I don’t think he’ll fetch much if he’s not able to return until the end of the month. I still think it’ll be a mid level prospect and not much more.

Fowler could’ve just wanted to play some games out knowing the break was coming and he could deal with it until then.

DeJong interests me a bit. I wanted him up before Sierra but he’s shown well at times. Still worry he’ll get figured out a bit after the break and that OBP before his little hot streak was south of.300 will creep that way once more but he’s shown to be a solid addition.

This team just doesn’t have what it takes. I’m not ever down for a full on rebuild but you’ve got to consider getting what you can for Lynn and Oh. They won’t be here next season anyway.

Also if they can’t find a place on the field for Carpenter then I think it’s a real possibility that they could move him. I personally think he should be in LF but it appears Fowler will end up there eventually.

    Knew this was fools gold.

Team needs to trade for Donaldson and then ship off Lynn and Oh after. Just do what you did when you traded Ludwick.

Point being they’ll want Gyorko to bridge the gap until Vlad Jr is ready. So it will have to be him as the centerpiece. And I agree you might as well try and see what else you can pry from them as well if you do it.

Hey man if the price is right you make the deal. Go for it in 2018 at worst. If we can’t contend with him this year you can trade a couple guys at the deadline this season and recoup the prospects you lost.

This series has the stench of split all over it. Seen it too many times the last 2 seasons.

I think it’s more of trying to get Voit more of a look and a lineup without Wong and Fowler little more offense. Carpenter has been awful against lefties this year but he’s got to play with the guys we’ve got out.

Rosenthal yanked after walking Loboton and loading the bases.

I would’ve personally stuck with Lyons with Harper up but that’s me.
