Look for another major spring training disruption in 2026 with the World Baseball Classic playing games from March 5-17.

I see 3 teams that look out of place when it comes to auto bids. It appears all one team had to do was win a game in the last WBC to earn auto status for 2026.

I hope the Cardinal players remember what happened last time. The WBC is such an annoyance for me.

It had nothing to do with our team performance in 23. I’m sure we can find plenty of success stories on that and many other teams rosters that participated.

I guess Mikolas hangover has been going on for a good bit now. Lol

I personally love it. Been to some games.

Four major Leaguers going. No Cardinals are members of Team USA. Arenado is playing for Puerto Rico.

    Riley O’Brien – Korea
    Thomas Saggese – Italy
    Gordon Graceffo – Italy
    Ivan Herrera – Panama

All rosters for WBC are in the 2nd link. Bader is suiting up for Isreal. Matt Holiday is the hitting coach for Team USA.

Brian just want to point out that im having issues with the screen freezing up for moments when people are posting videos or snippets from X. Will freeze for 20-30 sometimes. I’m posting from my phone.

Herrera is no longer participating due to insurance issues.

It is a good reminder that one way or another, it is always about money. Whether the premium to protect him was too large or he couldn’t get insurance at all doesn’t really matter. Herrera is in Cardinals camp and is catching. That is what matters most.

Selfishly, I’m glad he’s not playing in the WBC.

I think he’s genuinely disappointed about it though.

I like the WBC – good for the game. I also like that minor leaguers can be part of the tourney.

My daughter gave me one of those “23 and me” kits a few years ago and I submitted my samples. I am like 86% British, so I suppose if I was participating in the WBC I could play for the US team or the UK team, right?

We’re down 2-0 to Nicaragua. Lobby served up a meatball to someone.

If Italy can get to extra innings 4-4, they can advance by intentionally walking to side and losing 5-4, ousting USA.

They will scrape by in a tiebreaker.

Only safe thing to do if they let a runner on in the 10th.

Good last game. Venezuela earned that win and was on a good heater to end. Just not enough hitting by the US and not enough available pitching to an extent.

That championship game was a good one. I would say Aaron Judge was the goat. Had a couple
Of chances to do damage and watched several hittable pitches go by, and in hitters counts too like 2-0 and 3-1. Seemed to be almost afraid to swing. Was weird watching it.
