A few thoughts …
The starting pitching stat is impressive. Add to this that no starter has really suffered any injury over this season and last (knock on wood!). Tells me the Redbirds are doing something well!
I expect another “May-like” signing this offseason. Tampa has done this with success over time. I think Bloom will follow this model to plug any perceived rotation holes.
The payroll number is actually good news to me. The team now has the flexibility to offer long-term contracts to the youngsters they want to build around (e.g. Wetherholt deal). Further, I feel the organization has put in place more scouting and development resources. This should result in better signing decisions (prospects and veterans) as well as improved player performance.
This team has exceeded the expectations of many. I am excited to see how they finish and how things develop during the offseason!

Wow! Won-Bin Cho has really taken it up a notch this season. Saw him in Peoria before the call up to Springfield. I have watched a couple of YouTube shows in which the Peoria hitting coach has been cited for his work improving hitters. Wonder what adjustments Won-Bin had made?

So far, so good! Some great at bats with two strikes in top of the third. Need to add on here. Pallante has thrown a lot of pitches. May only last five innings. Hope the ‘pen will be ready!
I am guessing it will depend on how well the field drains. The latest radar view I got shows things clearing up on the Northside around 3:30pm or so.

Yes, I believe he played that position in HS and started his minor league career as a third baseman.
Fantastic job by the bullpen. Great to see the offense have a breakout. They leave Atlanta with a needed series win. Let’s hope the Redbirds can do the same in Chicago.
It was not pretty, but the Redbirds got it done. Nice to see a five-game win streak. Bring on the Marlins!

It is nice to see Walker start strong. I also hope he has learned his lessons and is able to adjust as the league adjusts to him.

The Detroit Tigers home opener against the St. Louis Cardinals on Friday, April 3, 2026, starts at 1:10 p.m. ET (with pregame coverage at noon) because it is the team’s traditional home opener, treated like a holiday in Detroit. Afternoon starts for early-season games also accommodate warmer weather and better fan attendance.
Always good to start the season on a winning note!
Not sure what the season has in store for the Redbirds. However, I really liked the enthusiasm demonstrated yesterday. Hoping for the best!

Agree … the Angels would be a better target! It would be better for Angel fans if he let professionals run the club. Artie is a meddler and that has hurt the club.
It will be interesting to see how Fermmin does in the outfield. You will not get much power, but he has some good AAA OBP numbers the last 2-3 years and ML numbers were better last season (although a small sample size).
This business model has not worked for several years. They keep trying to maximize revenue and exposure is reduced. I think it is time for MLB to pull the owners together and come up with a business model that works for all … fans, broadcasters and teams.
