Velazquez gets the job done with the sac-fly RBI and now Winn comes through with the 2 out RBI base hit!

Can never have too many runs at Wrigley. Let’s keep pouring it on.

Whoa…Fermin plugs the gap for another 2 out RBI as Winn goes 1B to HP to make it 6-0 Redbirds!

Like the way Winn went with the outside pitch. I tell ya, Fermin is a pretty good player. Puts the ball in play a lot. I would play him at third against righties.

Speaking of which, is Gorman doing anything at AAA? Haven’t heard anything about him since the demotion.

You ain’t kidding gscottar. It’s never easy and those Cubs still have 21 outs in the pockets of those ugly uniforms…

This ump has missed a few including what looked like were off but not challenged. He’s also not real quick on some calls.

Pallante has kept them off the board but the pitch count is high. Almost 60 pitches to get nine outs.

He sure has, Bikemike. He missed the first 2 pitches to Wetherholt to begin the game. I thought it might be a bad sign early on, but as long as it’s 6-0, he’ll be doing a real nice job behind HP…Haha!

I’m rather enjoying this, as long as Pallante can keep things under control.

So far, so good! Some great at bats with two strikes in top of the third. Need to add on here. Pallante has thrown a lot of pitches. May only last five innings. Hope the ‘pen will be ready!

Burleson comes through with the 2 out, 2 RBI base hit to stretch this lead to 8-0…The kids are feelin’ it!

8-0 in the 4th looks good but I would feel better with about 5 more runs.

That Sandberg game of 1984 still haunts me.

This is some of the worst balls/strikes calling I’ve seen for awhile.

Now Winn taters up with the 2 out, 3 run HR to make it 11-0!

Does this feel good or what?

With the exception of the Velazquez sac-fly RBI in the Redbird 3rd inning, every Cardinal RBI hit has come with 2 outs. Those are my favorite kind.

Oh my, did the Cards get the weight off their back in that 7th inning last night? At least 11 runs in back to back games. They had a total of 19 runs in the 8 games before that. I’ve wondered at times if being on the road helps them loosen up.

    Bikemike-

Gorman went to the lab for awhile. He now has 27 AB at Memphis, .185/.333/.444 slashline. He’s walked 6 times, but 13 Ks.

I hate the cubbies more than anyone…..except maybe Scotty. But they need to enact the 1923 Mercy Rule and put an abrupt stop to this game. This game is too embarrassing for words, to the Chicago cub organization and to it’s fans. To continue on in this game would be true misery and torment to one of this league’s most storied franchises…….albeit a perennial losing one. Just recently this cub organization endured over a full century without winning a world series. I’m all for showing some mercy here and stopping this game.

No lead is ever safe until it’s placed in the books. Keep on embarrassing these Cubbies…Haha!

Walker gets hit on the wrist and takes his base. Hopefully no broken bones.

There you go. The bases jammed BB to make it 12-0 ought to embarrass them…

That RBI BB was the 11th Cardinal run coming with 2 outs.

And Burleson makes it 13 two out Cardinal RBI’s today. No lead is ever…Well, maybe we’re safe.
