Yeah, Bikemike, to me the acid test for a 1B’man is how he’s able to handle the bunt. Teams wouldn’t even attempt to bunt with Hernandez situated at 1B. He’d simply start a GIDP on a sac bunt with a pitcher running. Opposing managers learned that it was a better bet to simply let the pitcher swing away and be victimized by a K for a single out. He was something else altogether over there at 1B.

Gorman has looked good with the glove. I would have put Pozo at DH tonight and Gorman at third. Then start Yohel tomorrow, giving him roughly 8 plate appearances in two days to shake off some rust.

And finally, once Nootbaar comes back Urias would be the odd man out, with Saggesse and Fermin back as mostly infield back up.

Hernandez was the best for us who saw him play. Just a terrific first baseman.

Really good start by Pallante. I have to give him credit as I am not his biggest fan. I would try to squeeze another inning out of him on this long stretch but pull him any runners allowed

For me when Noot is back, Noot plays LF with Church in CF and Scott trying to improve in AAA.

Stanek never gives you a good feeling when he comes in. His command is so bad that he opens the door to trouble.

What’s the logic in waiting until the tying run stands in until you go and take the baseball from him? It’s always been like that with this guy.

Why would you take out Pallante at 90 pitches when he has been well to bring in Ryne Stanek. Stanek is a walk machine

We could have used a better arm in CF there on that can o corn that drove in two. Scott didn’t even contest it.

I really thought Graceffo would be the 7th inning guy moving forward or Soriano. I don’t really understand why Stanek still holds that role.

That should have been a double play and inning over. But Masyn blows it. Maybe the wet field comes into play there.

Run scores on another potential inning ending double play. This one was tough with a high chopper. JJ made an excellent play to get it to Winn quickly for a shot at it. 5-4 now.

Arenado hit his 5th dong of the year tonight in Milwaukee at Miller Park. He is now hitting .287 with 5 homeruns and 17 rbi’s.
