ParticipantLots of questions with our pitching but a win is a win.

jj-cf-stlParticipantBaseball just invites outlandish.
What a game.March 26, 2026 at 6:24 pm #303355On our way to 162-0 season.
March 26, 2026 at 6:49 pm #303356Nothing like a win on opening day. High fives all around.
March 26, 2026 at 7:02 pm #303357Fun game to watch.
March 26, 2026 at 7:11 pm #303358That’s one in a row.
March 26, 2026 at 8:00 pm #303360Watching the DBacks and Doyers from Doyer Stadium.
In his first at bat Arenado hit a little weak flyball, a popup to the 2ndbaseman.
That rang a bell.
Plus he made a really good defensive play in the bottom of the 1st.
That rang a bell too.
March 26, 2026 at 8:18 pm #303361Cards won and Cubs lost. I call that a good day.
March 27, 2026 at 12:04 am #303388Two takeaways from the ’26 opener. We’re in first place and the Redbird closer gifts 3 BB’s and comes away with the save…We’re underway!
March 27, 2026 at 10:24 am #303399Always good to start the season on a winning note!
Not sure what the season has in store for the Redbirds. However, I really liked the enthusiasm demonstrated yesterday. Hoping for the best!

March 27, 2026 at 1:10 pm #303402Coming back after being down six in the later innings is impressive. But you won’t score 9 too often. Hope the pitching can be better, although the Rays did have some good fortune in that 6 run inning with balls not hit hard, but out of reach of defenders.
March 27, 2026 at 2:33 pm #303403Some quick thoughts from yesterday
Liberatore not too bad, it looked like he was clearly running on fumes before they pulled him….7 hits and 2 walks is a little to much traffic on the bases though.
Bullpen
I would think Roycroft and Bruihl need a couple of good showings or Graceffo, Raquet or others may be up soon from Memphis. Svanson has at least a better track record so maybe a longer leash.
Stanek has good stuff but needs to get some control (3 walks in an inning will put the whole forum in the psych ward)…may just be opening day jitters
O’Brien… thought he looked pretty solid
Hitting
Only 3 strikeouts but zero walks.
Winn in the 4 spot is something I didn’t think to see….
really think it’s important Gorman/Walker/Scott get off to decent starts.
3 hits for Scott and Church is good to see.Good to see some base stealing from Scott as well…going to need more of that from more players
Church with a really nice catch at the wall.
March 27, 2026 at 6:24 pm #303408Not a great showing from the St. Louis bulllpen. But with the likes of Graceffo, Hence, Gastelum, Hjerpe, maybe Zack Thompsn all waiting in the wings, you have to feel a sense of optimisson about the eventual bullpen.

jj-cf-stlParticipant17 hits, 16 singles. They hit .395, so a lot of contact fell in, and Church brought one back.
