I love Willie!
This virus is significantly more contagious and more deadly than a typical flu strain.
Facts from the CDC & WHO:
1. This is an entirely new virus strain
2. Thus, no immune resistance exists. None.
3. The contagion rate is 1:2.3, at a minimum. For every person infected they infect 2.3 people and each of those people infects 2-3 more people, and so on. It is highly contagious.
4. It is at least 10 times more deadly than regular flu strains (see point #2)The lack of substantive numbers in the US is due to a lack of available testing and not due to a lack of transmission.
Limiting large gatherings is both an attempt to try and slow down transmission AND not overload medical facilities.
The downside to being cautious and being wrong doesn’t begin to compare with the downside of not taking action and being wrong.
I have a number of dear friends who are huge Chiefs fans so it’s GO CHIEFS!!
McDowell comes across as someone who had an axe to grind with TLR.
As far as site facilities go, subscribers have access to a separate forum. That’s it.
Baffled
Brian,
If you read the report that is more than Heyman apparently did before tweeting his expectations re Cora’s punishment.I expect Cora to get hammered worse than Luhnow & Hinch.
Brian,
I read lengthy tweets by Jeff Passan giving lots of details. Looked like an official doc.Player driven. Carlos Beltran mentioned by name. Went to Cora who set out all up.
Perhaps someone can get those tweets
MM,
Any player selected in the MLB portion of the Rule 5 draft must remain on the selecting team’s 26-man roster the entire next season.Rat,
Pham has a degenerative eye disease. That’s not something I’d wish on my worst enemy.
Discuss his on-the-field performance to your heart’s content.
Lay off the vision comments.

CC,
Sorry for the delay in replying. I’m neck deep in the Starter of the Year articles.Miranda made my short list but not the final cut. There were 10 relievers qualifying for Reliever of the Year. Of the 7 categories I looked at, Miranda ranked 2nd in two categories, fifth in one and sixth in four. That just didn’t cut it for me.
And That’s A Winner!!
Looks like it’s FSMW
Be Happy you don’t have to listen to the announcers, Pugs. I finally gave up and muted my TV.
Minuteman – Trump’s racism, alleged or actual, isn’t a topic or example for this board.
Thanks.
How horrible. My heart goes out to all those affected,
Newsflash Mo – the Cardinals’ pitching depth was already texted and the pickin’s by now are slim.
Have you paid attention to your minor league teams?
Fixed to read UCL
CiF – my sentiments exactly. Except I got tired of the Reyes saga last summer.
Thanks for using Eric Lex’s pic for the article’s header, Brian!
And I very much look forward to reading your thoughts, Bob

There are no “villans” here.
What we DO have are individuals who love the St Louis Cardinals dearly and want them to win. How each expresses their fandom is their own and should NOT be considered a reflection of another’s fandom. No one has the market cornered on judging who is or isn’t a fan.
Keep posts directed to baseball and off of personalities.
I too get frustrated with both the team and management.
An example of how long something can annoy me – I was so unhappy with the Mark Mulder trade that I consistently called him Bucket of Poop. Way after the Mark Mulder Era had passed, I used his actual name during a baseball discussion with my die-hard Cardinals fan daughter who looked at me confused and asked “Who?”. When I responded “Bucket of Poop” she knew exactly who I meant. She never heard me use his real name.
I agree that criticism should not be equated with the level of random. Not at all.
But I also remind myself that I’m not privy to all of what goes into management’s decisions. I remember back to the fairly brief time Dave Duncan was posting at Bernie’s Pressbox. He took the time to explain what went into in-game pitching decisions that didn’t make much sense to the we fans during the contest. 9 times out of 10 there was really solid logic behind the move but it didn’t work out.
So I try to give them the benefit of the doubt. And to acknowledge differing views even if I don’t agree.
Now here’s to sweeping the Baby Bears at Wrigley!
Let’s not get into possible mind-reading about a post’s intent (and, yes, I noticed the OP was the one who raised the ‘intent’ originally).
A general suggestion: Making statements/posts that begin with an ‘I don’t mean to…’ just paints a big ole red bulls-eye on said statement/post.
For example:. Beginning a statement with ‘Don’t take this the wrong way but…’ just screams that you’re about to offend the person with whom you are talking and you know it. ‘Don’t take this the wrong way but those pants are really tight on you.’
Instead, either: a)Think of a more tactful way to communicate, b) Reconsider saying anything at all or c)Just go ahead as is and let the chips fall where they may
