August 25, 2019 at 9:35 pm #103736Hard to believe we are 2.5 ahead of the Cubs and 4.5 ahead of the Brewers.

August 25, 2019 at 10:04 pm #103737Maybe we are good.
August 26, 2019 at 9:21 am #103774The Brew Crew will be fired up this series and desperate. I am sure we will get their best shot. Hopefully we weather the storm, pitch around Yelich, and pick up a win or two. And Go Mets!
August 26, 2019 at 9:32 am #103781I’m going up to Milwaukee for the game tonight, it’s only about an hour and a half trip. The nice thing about Miller Park is the roof. No worrying about a rain delay, cancellation or being miserably cold, which it was for the 1st series of the year, just traffic delays due to the rain/weather. The food is top notch too.
Hopefully Wainwright becomes the 2011 version of Carp down the stretch, Carp’s playoff run that year was nothing short of unbelievable. Game 5 vs Philly was one for the ages.
8th row, 100 level for Cards @ Brewers – $39 after Stubhub fees
20th row, 200 level for Cards @ Cubs – $94 after Stubhub feesAugust 26, 2019 at 9:50 am #103784It was nice to see Carp regain a a more positive looking swing at the plate yesterday, but what about Yadi? I think he’s is having much better ABs the last few games. Anybody else notice that? The way he got on top of and lined that high 90s fastball fastball yesterday was impressive. Mere mortals who have tried that know it’s next to impossible — especially since Yadi’s hands are not in the best of shape right now.

August 26, 2019 at 10:50 am #103789Hmmm, seems we have seen this matchup of pitchers before but Gio was on a different team. And Waino needed a lot of serious help in that one. Praise Kozma & Descalso.

stlcard25ParticipantThe Cards have scored 74 runs in the 13 games since Budaska was fired. Could be bad opposition or could be the bats are coming around. It would be nice to get good Waino in this road game and have the offense put a few over the Miller Park walls.
August 26, 2019 at 3:13 pm #103815I think if the Cards can take 2 of 3 from the Brewers on the road many people will start to believe in this team.

stlcard25ParticipantAngel Hernandez? That’s, uh…wonderful.
August 26, 2019 at 4:50 pm #103820Oh great, the worst umpiring crew in baseball. The only thing that could make it worse would be if C.B. Bucknor was here.
r/Esteemed Rat <~~~~who wonders if this post will work???
August 26, 2019 at 4:58 pm #103826Well, we can hope that all the bad calls will go against the beer-makers and leave them doing the griping.

Participantyea I don’t like having angel Hernandez behind the plate, or anywhere on the field actually. I say we go in there and take game one, set the tone. hopefully waino is on his game.
August 26, 2019 at 5:46 pm #103830Gotta congrats the team on the sweep. Waino should have a good night as long as we use our secret formula. We won’t have a rainout and we know who we’re up against. Just not playing at home. I’m not surprised we’re in the lead right now. These other teams aren’t any better than us.Go Cardinals!
August 26, 2019 at 5:47 pm #103831Oh great, the worst umpiring crew in baseball. The only thing that could make it worse would be if C.B. Bucknor was here.
Has he ever made a call 1/10 as bad as the great Denkinger?
August 26, 2019 at 6:22 pm #103833That seemed like a pretty bad at bat by Yadi . . . until it became a great at bat. He drives in two the make it 2-0 after the top of the first.
August 26, 2019 at 6:25 pm #103835It just hit me that I don’t like Wainwright pitching in Miller Park. It’s where his career took a distinct turn four years ago with the Achilles rupture.
August 26, 2019 at 6:39 pm #103836
stlcard25ParticipantWaino wiggles out of a jam in the first. Bader leads off the second with a single and sacrificed over by Waino. Now the ball is thrown away and Bader gets to third. Let’s get another run or two here.
August 26, 2019 at 6:42 pm #103837
stlcard25ParticipantDex comes to through and it’s 3-0 Cards!
August 26, 2019 at 6:47 pm #103838Ozuna clears the bases with a double for three runs. Score 6-0.
August 26, 2019 at 6:51 pm #103839
stlcard25ParticipantPretty good hitting by the Cards here tonight. Now the bases a juiced for Carl as the 9th batter of the inning.
August 26, 2019 at 6:54 pm #103840Carp’s one good game is looking like one good game. Strikes out with bases loaded and just one out. Missed opportunity to blow it open unless Bader can get a big 2-out hit.
