    Bling: re 2nd opinion,

Shildt said he hoped that Andrews would reinforce the Cardinals’ initial findings that the elbow ligament seemed intact.

An all-time Cardinal-White Sox team, guys who played for both clubs, although I cannot think of a second slacker:

    C-Marc Hill
    1b-Joe Cunningham
    2b- ???
    Ss-Don Kessinger
    3b-Ken Boyer
    Of-Minnie Minoso
    Cf-Lance Johnson
    Rf-Walt “No Neck” Williams
    DH-Dick Allen
    Sp-Lance Lynn
    Rp-Hoyt Wilhelm

Looks like we have another low-scoring affair tonight.

This has the feeling like so many other Cardinal games. The bullpen gives up that one hit and/or the Cardinals fail to produce that one hit in the late innings.

Man, Mercedes must have about $10 grand worth of gold around his neck.

Not sure about you guys, but when I played sports as a kid, teenager, adult, I never liked to have any jewelry on. Basketball, baseball, you name it. I wanted to be as free and flexible as possible to do anything on the field or court without anything getting in the way.

Hopefully Whitley and Webb are not available tonight.

This offense is pitiful! It’s hard to pick between Lance Thomas and Justin Williams which is least pro ready! 32 innings and 5 runs! We need batting help NOW!!

BikeMike Tony LaRussa played second base for both organizations but not at the big league level. But his biggest contribution was as manager for both.

    Also Aaron Miles.

Nice recovery by Sosa to at least get the lead runner.

Great contribution, TexasCard. Yeah, I should have put LaRussa as manager, and while we are at it, Harry Caray as the announcer.

I did not realize Aaron Miles played for the Sox. That completes the team!

Danny Mac doing his best Announcer Jinx by Mentioning the Cardinals looking for their first hit as many times as he can. I don’t think that jinks works though against the opposing team.

A good start to lead off the 6th. Might want to think about sending Edman

We needed that hit last night in the 7th but it works here tonight in the 6th too. 1-0, Cardinals.

Flare pitching tomorrow would next be scheduled to pitch Sunday. If I were Schildt, I’d hold him until Monday when we start the series against the Dodgers. Just something to think about.

Sad to see Bader exit early. I hope it’s a short layoff. Our outfield has actually been pretty good this year, or O’Neill, Bader and Carlson have. It’s a shame that they can’t seem to stay on the field.

Sadly the dh brings a .116 hitter off the Cards bench. Have some respect for your career and retire. Or Schildt it is your job. Put an end to this. Starting to act like matheny/larussa with the vets.

I had a bad feeling the Vaughn was going to rip one. Once again, the untimely mistake costs a Cards pitcher.

Putting Carp on first may have just cost us both of those runs. Goldy may have had that hit by mercedes and its still a 1-0 game.

Thats true Jbrodie7. Another example of basically how you cannot put Carpenter in the field anymore. He’s nothing but a DH and pinch-hitter.

We need to win one of these three games at Comiskey Park.

Just a thought … is it time to ride the hot bat. That is, would it make sense to move Sosa into the #2 spot in the order, Carlson #3, Arenado #4 and Goldy #5? Or, does Goldy need Nolan to hit behind him to see good pitches?

Just thinking the club needs to runners on base ahead of the big bats.

Ponce is a mess. Woodford’s a talent that they should go to more often.
