The key to Mo’s off season remarks is the one word he used a few days ago…prudent. That could be a signal that it will be El Cheapos again this off-season. Watch what he says and if he keeps using prudent then they’ll get Seth Lugo and Rich Hill and declare the off-season over and another triumph.

Agreed there are tons of problems in San Diego just as there are tons of problems in St. Louis. Who will fix their problems first? I don’t know.
Junior will never pay dear for Imanaga, it’s very simple. As to Gray well, I suppose he could be of some help but the Cardinals need BIG BIG deals of superstar pitchers. What we finished up with was not even a major league staff.

people are way over estimating the type of rotation Mo has in mind. It will be another half-assed C+ rotation that will either get a wild card or fall a little short. If they make it to the playoffs it will be the usual one and done. That’s all Junior will spend.
Mo said he need three new starters. But I don’t think he said he would get all three from the outside. He could find one form another team and use Hudson and Thompson as the other two with Rom in the wings.
The Rays’ attendance is sad. Here’s what needs to happen. A group of St. Louis millionaires should buy the Rays and move them to St. Louis. Build a stadium out west or south and call them the St. Louis Browns. They’d be selling 40,000 per game and sell out the playoffs. Your welcome, everyone.
O’Neill and Carlson should go, I never thought they were any good but Contreras, now, that is different. He’s a pain and it hurts that he can’t catch but he can hit so I would be very surprised if they even try to move him. The X factor is that this season was so bad that I think Junior might actually be scared of another season just like it…unless…they are drastic this winter. It is possible that they could do wild, crazy even expensive things. I doubt it but this is the first off-season in 27 years that it is possible.

You are right and if they are unwilling trade any of those guys then they won’t get anyone worth having. It’ll be another Matz/Leake.
Many people still don’t understand Mospeak. He said he needed 3 starters but he didn’t say they’d come from the outside. He could use Hudson and Thompson maybe add an outsider and he has his 3 starters. Just like last year when he said they would raise the payroll. Of course, the payroll went up (A minute amount) for raises and arbitration so Mo could say see, we raised the payroll. Same thing this year with I need 3 starters. People need to know who is talking and not believe a word he says.
