I agree the empty seats are sad.
I am reminded of the issue of how attendance is counted. Maybe the Rox are like the Cards and report tickets sold. Maybe the Rays report gate. The Commissioner’s goon squad needs to regularize the method to purify the data so as to enhance the effectiveness of the anaytics. That’s how you facilitate optimization protocols. They are probably already on it.
I didn’t think I would watch the playoffs (as I am a Cardinal’s homer) but I did watch the last 2 innings of the Twins win.
I think I’ll tune in to the the last 3 innings of tied or tight games as those are the most compelling when you don’t have a specific rooting interest.
The Rays’ attendance is sad. Here’s what needs to happen. A group of St. Louis millionaires should buy the Rays and move them to St. Louis. Build a stadium out west or south and call them the St. Louis Browns. They’d be selling 40,000 per game and sell out the playoffs. Your welcome, everyone.

The Rangers make short work of the Rays. Neither one of the games were ever in doubt. Bochy led teams have a history of getting hot during post-season play and Texas sure looked good going into Tampa to win these two WC games.
Montgomery now has 13.2 innings of post-season work in which he’s allowed just 1 ER for an ERA of 0.66.
Arizona now leads Milwaukee 5-2 in the 7th at County Stadium.
If this score holds up we have seen the last of Front Row Amy until the start of the 2024 season.

I think BillyMo, MoBill, Bill and Mo can all be used interchangeably. No difference in their thinking. Although with one it is organic. With the other, maybe so or maybe not, but probably includes some behavioral adaptation over the years.

It is even easier to forget how many games are lost with the mitt. Walker hit .276 and still ended up with negative WAR, which theoretically means we would have been better off without him.
So a number 3 seed from the NLC gets swept at home by the number six seed? Sounds familiar.
Counsell must be a bum of a manager. Should be fired.
I thought Counsell’s job may have been in jeopardy after they surrendered a nice NLC division lead to the Redbirds in ’22. At any rate, I hope he’s fired and chosen as a replacement for the utterly inept current Cardinal manager. I like Counsell.
I’m not entirely sure it’s easy to forget games that are lost by the presence of an oven mitt…Obviously the relative importance of any particular game magnifies the ill-timed “Das Boot,” but most Redbird fans remember Flood’s lost footing in the loose CF turf in game 7 of the ’68 WS or Holliday getting handcuffed in LF for the E-7 in game 2 of the ’09 NLDS and Kozma’s E-6 muff during the exchange on a tailor made GIDP chance early in game 1 of the ’13 WS. Our old friend Adam Wainwright being the victimized pitcher in both of the latter two instances…But the ultimate oven mitt moment of my lifetime unquestionably belongs to a guy who collected over 2700 hits during an excellent 22 year career, but who’s name will forever be associated with one solitary instant in time. Poor Bill Buckner…
Good to see the arrogant “Merkle Guerrero” get picked off at 2nd base. He was sound asleep in a crucial spot in an elimination game. Looks good on him.
