Ump misses the K on the 2-2 pitch but gives up the makeup call on 3-2. That’s 3 strikeouts for Jack.
Castellanos crushes one and the Reds are back in it. 7-3. Jack’s bugaboo is probably just always gonna be there.
Cards really working the counts here in the 4th. Flaherty walks and Edman gets on with a swinging bunt. Trying to get those runs back.
Offense looks good today. Hopefully Jack can give us at least 6 innings without giving too many runs back.
Where’s this offense been hiding? Granted, the Reds have been helping us out, but can’t fault those Cardinal bats.
Maybe our guys like hitting in Great American Ballpark better than they do Roger Dean, although you would think the 37 degree temps in Cincy right now would stifle the offense some.
Uncle Denny’s correct call on Carlson can be attributed to one thing……pure luck. Carlson batting 7th in anyone’s lineup is just plain unsettling. And speaking of “unsettling”, I’m presently looking at our ace walking dejectedly off the hill in the 5th, not being able to safely secure a mammoth advantage. 11-6 now as Webb induces a short sac fly to center….and what kind of a throw was that from the aforementioned Carlson????
Kind of a sparse crowd here today on opening day in the Queen City. Webb does his job…11-6 Good Guys as we mozzy along to the 6th.
Goldy with a rocket shot right up the middle, but that’s where India had him played, thus preventing Goldschmidt’s fourth consecutive hit to open the ’21 campaign. Romano sets us down 1-2-3 here in the 6th and we need to return the favor in the bottom half.

`Well we had so much offense I was able to watch my recording and still catch up to live ball. Offense has been good though some shaky reds defense and pitching attributed. Our pitching hasn’t been much better. Flaherty looked great at times hopefully just attribute it to cold. Hopefully we can hold on here without taking bullpen too much on first day.
Helsley can’t find the plate. This is a position where having a guy like Gant would be a great luxury.
