For the next five, my votes are as follows:
#16 – Delvin Perez – If he isn’t taken during the Rule 5 draft, I think he will continue to improve his hitting to go along with his strong defense and be an asset to the MLB team.
#17 – Edwin Nunez – Needs to continue to mature and learn to throw more strikes, but has great upside
#18 – Luken Baker – More seasoning needed but certainly can hit! Needs to learn other positions to increase his chances of catching on in the majors
#10 – Ryan Holgate – Great potential but needs more at bats.
#20 – Austin Love – Not a lot of exposure yet, but looked very good with a small sample.REVISED LIST FOR 11-15
Due to Plummer inking a MLB contract with the Mets, I have revised my picks as follows:#11 – Brendan Donovan
#12 – Joshua Baez
#13 – Malcom Nunez
#14 – Delvin Perez
#15 – Andre PallanteBrendon Donovan is my pick for #10. I think he is ready to make the jump to the majors and will help the team as a utility guy off the bench unless needed due to injury. He may develop into an everyday option given some reps on the field.
Baez had a .158 avg. and .608 OPS last year. Granted, that was only 76 ab’s, so hopefully he will find his stroke in ’22. The team needs him to be good! I liked some things I saw in Thompson in the AFL, but he has to get better command to cut down on walks. I like Donovan as well, but in terms of best prospect at this point, I will vote for Zack Thompson at #9. Baez can make his way up the ladder with a strong spring and summer.
I vote for Nootbaar at #8. Have to see more out of Baez and McGreevy before they get into the top ten. Maybe mid-season or next year…
Ah, so Plummer would still be eligible! Good to know! I wondered about that so thanks for the clarification, 25.
Is Nootbaar eligible? I feel like he would be much higher than either Yepez and Burleson at this point.
EDIT-Nootbaar *is* eligible. 124 plate appearances so he just makes it under the cutoff.

I agree with bcc and rank Burleson at #5. Really liked his hitting at several levels. Looking forward to seeing how this year goes for him! Great upside!
From what I have seen from the prospects right now, I also vote for Yepez at #4. Winn is promising, but I also think Burleson had a great year. He’s not ready yet, but looks very competent as a hitter so far! Interested to see where he will land on this list!
#3 Matt Liberatore. After him, it starts to get interesting! There may be a lot more difference of opinion on who should be ranked above another! This will be fun!
Here’s a thought to ponder… IF the Cardinals were to consider trading PDJ, Colorado would make sense since they are looking for a shortstop for a year or two until their hot prospect Tovar will be ready. What could we expect in return for him and who do they have that we might want?
You guys are a bunch of pups! I remember the 64 World series since I was 9 years old at that time! Lol! Don’t remember a lot, but I have always disliked the Yankees since I was a kid! Listened to KMOX for the games when we were young. Only special games like the WS were on TV, unless you were fortunate to have the game televised on the Saturday game of the week! My, how times have changed!

I agree with you Brian about the SS taken by San Diego in the Rule 5 draft that didn’t pan out for them. At the time tho, many Cardinal fans were up in arms!
And thanks for the clarification about the correct date for the deadline to declare for the 40 man roster. I thought I had read that November date but saw the article on MLB and “assumed” it must be true! After all, it was on the internet!

Not sure all of my choices would be taken by another team, but we got burned before by San Diego taking a potential prospect we thought we could leave off the 40 man. A few other intriguing names I see would be J. Rodriguez, Coulter, C Jones, Torres and Escobar. Again, not sure they would stay on someone’s roster for the whole year, but…
I am sure the Cards will promote several AA players up to AAA to protect them from the minor league portion of the draft. It will be an interesting couple of weeks coming up to see who will stay and who will go! I think the 40 man has to be set by Nov. 19, but not sure on that date.That’s some of the names I think the Cards need to protect, but they have a lot better grip on talent and potential.
According to an article by Rob Rains, “Left-handed pitcher Garrett Williams has been added to the Glendale roster to replace Hicks.” One more prospect to watch during the offseason!
