Congrats to the Rays and the 5 players who refused to bow to idols.
Kansas City Royals shortstop Adalberto Mondesi has suffered a torn ACL in his left knee, team president Dayton Moore announced on Thursday. Maybe a nice cross state trip for DeJong could answer a lot of questions for both our team and theirs.
Does this mean he can go into the HOF as a Cardinal and not a LA Angel?
John Fulgham 2.0.
Shoulder? He may never again pitch significant innings for the Cardinals.
March 10th/2022 the day real baseball as it was meant to be played died.
Remove politics completely from the game.
Reduce ticket prices.
Hard salary cap. (floor and ceiling)
Juan Soto turned down a 13-year, $350 million contract from the Washington Nationals…the players need to continue holding out…how can anyone be expected to survive in these inflationary times on a paltry $350 million?
In panic mode due to the pending loss of Robby Ray, the Jays just threw $131 million for 7 years at Jose Barrios. Considering what they gave up to acquire him it seems they felt obligated to sign him.August 25, 2021 at 10:59 am in reply to: 2021 Cardinals MLB Game 121 thread – Tuesday, Aug. 24 vs. Tigers #170684
JF = JF
Jack Flaherty = John Fulgham
Excellent pitchers, short careers.June 15, 2021 at 4:02 pm in reply to: Wainwright doctoring baseballs? – MLB rules change #164044
are the suspensions the same if you use a domestic substance instead?
He now has all the time in the world to count his money.
There is no way Bob Gibson would allow a 22 pitch at bat. After about 7 or 8 pitches you throw one a bit too far inside.
Can anyone out there find stats that indicate whether or not the constant shifting of infielders has made certain infield positions more or less valuable defensively that in previous years?
Randy Johnson didn’t start to get his BB rate under control until he was 30+ years old.February 2, 2021 at 9:19 pm in reply to: Trade Ideas/Acquisition Ideas/Non-Cards Rumors – 2021-2022 #153283
with regards to Joey Gallo of Texas, he makes Dave Kingman and Pete Incaviglia look like batting champions. We need guys that consistently get on base and put the ball in play. Sub .210 hitters who are K machines hurt more than they help.January 29, 2021 at 4:12 pm in reply to: Trade Ideas/Acquisition Ideas/Non-Cards Rumors – 2021-2022 #152721
How does this affect our negotiations with Yadi?…The Athletic reported on Friday night that the Phillies made Realmuto a five-year offer worth “slightly north” of $100 million. It is well below Realmuto’s asking price at the end of last Spring Training — he hoped to land a $200 million deal — and possibly below the record average annual value for a catcher.
Don’t look now, but Descalso is back on the market!
Not enough asterisks in the world to put beside this WS and the joke of a season that preceded it. Real baseball resumes in April of 2021.
Arozarena sets rookie mark with 7th HR…great trade eh.
1. One year closer to getting rid of Carpenter, Fowler and Martinez.
2. Kim and Gomber – finally some LHSP production.
3.. Mikolas and Hicks miss the 2020 season and not a real season.
4. Yadi and Wainwright can still contribute and should be considered for 2021 if the $$$ is right.
5. Lots of good young pitching.
1. Underwhelming outfield. ( just imagine if our outfield was Ozuna, Taveras and whoever.)
2. Unreliable bullpen.
3. Way too many pitching injuries.
I can’t believe the Royals actually have a RP named Blewett! The worst name for a pitcher since Bob Walk.September 15, 2020 at 10:42 pm in reply to: 2020 Cardinals Game #43 – Tue, Sept. 15 at Brewers #140291
Message to Flaherty…what happens between the white lines matters. Brutal performance in a big game.
