Here is how the rotation is setting up:
Today (home): Gray
Today (road): McGreevy
Saturday: Liberatore
Sunday: Fedde
Monday (in Memphis): PallanteThursday (Opening Day): Gray
March 21, 2025 at 2:04 pm #277836I know it is just spring training but Gray has looked awful. He has been pounded nearly every outing. Hopefully he has things figured out by Thursday.
March 21, 2025 at 2:16 pm #277837Will any of the 5 be able to work thru 5?
March 21, 2025 at 2:52 pm #277840This is our reset rotation? Hmmmmm. Looks kinda familiar.
March 21, 2025 at 3:12 pm #277842The reset rotation starts on August 1 the day after the trade deadline.
March 21, 2025 at 7:33 pm #277852I’m sure Brian is crossing his fingers that Liberatore gets a rotation spot. Agree with Brian on and Kyle form the podcast episode it would be a shame if McGreevy gets the short end of the stick and is the flex guy in a 6 man rotation. I’m hoping he gets the ball consistently.
March 21, 2025 at 8:08 pm #277854Remember about 3-4 years ago when we thought we had the nucleus of a very good rotation for years to come?
Flaherty
Hudson
Alex Reyes (#1 pitching prospect in all of baseball)Where have you gone, Joe Dimaggio? Or Ernest T. Bass for that matter.

p.s. had some Catfish Fiddlers today!
March 21, 2025 at 9:10 pm #277857So Victor Scott II has hit four homeruns this spring.
We don’t need him to hit homeruns.
We need him to get on base and steal bases.
I hope he doesn’t start trying to slug it out there every time he comes up like everybody else does nowadays.

March 21, 2025 at 9:48 pm #277858We need him to get on base and steal bases.
I thought batting average is all that matters.
March 21, 2025 at 10:30 pm #277859The Cardinals want him to the type of lead-off man that is more in line with Schwarber.

Not likely to figure this out by Thursday, if ever…..
@ cbssortsline—Cardinals’ Sonny Gray: Struggling with velocity, results
Rotowire 19 hrs ago
Gray acknowledged Friday that his velocity has been down this spring, but he says he’s healthy, John Denton of MLB.com reportsMarch 22, 2025 at 11:58 am #277869The Cardinals want him to the type of lead-off man that is more in line with Schwarber.
He’s too much like Ricky Henderson, let’s get rid of him, lol.

Ernest T Bass had a pretty good arm. He could really throw the rock!
March 23, 2025 at 9:58 am #277882This is it for the 2025 Grapefruit League. With a 12-14-3 mark, they cannot conclude the spring with a winning record.

Memphis:
Fermin 7
Koperniak DH
Saggese 5
Crooks 2
Helman 6
Prieto 4
Vilade 9
Lloyd 3
Torres 8March 24, 2025 at 3:53 pm #277938What do we expect in terms of the Opening Day batting order?
And by the way, the Weather Channel says it’s about a 70% chance of rain on Thursday in the St. Louis area.

March 24, 2025 at 4:10 pm #277939The Opening Day batting order should look like the one tonight, but the players will probably play a full game on Thursday.
March 24, 2025 at 7:34 pm #277948Is anyone concerned that Winn has only 4 hits all spring mostly against pitchers that might not even make MLB rosters. He’s in the process of going hitless again tonight against Memphis. what happens if he has a sophomore season like so many recent promising Cardinal prospects?

Oh dear Lord in heaven I sure hope not……..
March 24, 2025 at 8:00 pm #277952Rats, why would you want the starters to leave the Opening Day game early?
March 24, 2025 at 8:10 pm #277953Who’s slated to work the opener?
March 24, 2025 at 8:30 pm #277957CARDINALS SEASON-OPENING ROTATION:
• Thursday, March 27 vs. Minnesota: RHP Sonny Gray
• Saturday, March 29 vs. Minnesota: RHP Erick Fedde
• Sunday, March 30 vs. Minnesota: RHP Andre Pallante
• Monday, March 31 vs. LA Angels: RHP Miles Mikolas
• Tuesday, April 1 vs. LA Angels: RHP Matthew LiberatoreMarch 24, 2025 at 8:32 pm #277958Koperniak now 4 for 4 tonight against the big league team.
I feel for him and McGreevey as they both appear to have earned a spot. They should still see action at some point. Hopefully their good results continue.
Then again, McGreevey may end up as the opening day starter if Gray isn’t ready.
March 24, 2025 at 8:37 pm #277959Rats, why would you want the starters to leave the Opening Day game early?
No, what I meant was I hope to high heaven that is not the batting order that we are going to go with. Surely it can’t be.
March 24, 2025 at 8:37 pm #277960I wasn’t at all sure if Gray was still in line to get the baseball. In any case, it’ll be nice to see some Big League baseball action. I just hope my favorite team is still relevant by the time I have to make sure the mower’s topped off with oil and fuel…
