Here is how the rotation is setting up:
Today (home): Gray
Today (road): McGreevy
Saturday: Liberatore
Sunday: Fedde
Monday (in Memphis): PallanteThursday (Opening Day): Gray
I know it is just spring training but Gray has looked awful. He has been pounded nearly every outing. Hopefully he has things figured out by Thursday.
I’m sure Brian is crossing his fingers that Liberatore gets a rotation spot. Agree with Brian on and Kyle form the podcast episode it would be a shame if McGreevy gets the short end of the stick and is the flex guy in a 6 man rotation. I’m hoping he gets the ball consistently.
Remember about 3-4 years ago when we thought we had the nucleus of a very good rotation for years to come?

So Victor Scott II has hit four homeruns this spring.
We don’t need him to hit homeruns.
We need him to get on base and steal bases.
I hope he doesn’t start trying to slug it out there every time he comes up like everybody else does nowadays.

The Opening Day batting order should look like the one tonight, but the players will probably play a full game on Thursday.
Is anyone concerned that Winn has only 4 hits all spring mostly against pitchers that might not even make MLB rosters. He’s in the process of going hitless again tonight against Memphis. what happens if he has a sophomore season like so many recent promising Cardinal prospects?

CARDINALS SEASON-OPENING ROTATION:
• Thursday, March 27 vs. Minnesota: RHP Sonny Gray

I feel for him and McGreevey as they both appear to have earned a spot. They should still see action at some point. Hopefully their good results continue.
Then again, McGreevey may end up as the opening day starter if Gray isn’t ready.

No, what I meant was I hope to high heaven that is not the batting order that we are going to go with. Surely it can’t be.
