KeepComingBackParticipantOur periphial guys are now hitting well enough for us to win consistently if our “superstars” decide to contribute. Wednesday perfect example. First inning chance to take the lead they both fail. It would have changed the game. We will be out of the race and booed off the field if they can’t look any better in this homestead than they did Wednesday with a chance to come home on an uptick.

KeepComingBackParticipantI was off today. Took my kayak out fishing. Now I need a sweep to finish the day off.
KeepComingBackParticipantI’m trying to keep calm. It will change when MO is gone and not one minute before. Be cool. Like Fonzie.
KeepComingBackParticipantI loved Ernie Banks. And that’s even with the fact he was a Cub.
KeepComingBackParticipantI haven’t given up on Lib and the Cardinals shouldn’t either. It’s a issue of him learning the craft.
KeepComingBackParticipantThat lineup tells you everything you need to know. Oli probably didn’t fill that card out without strong suggestions from above or he has no fear of losing his job.

KeepComingBackParticipantGoldy as classy a guy as there is. But Carpenter was horrid a few years ago and they refused to sit him. Don’t expect they sit goldy either.

KeepComingBackParticipantBy the way Bling you are 100% wrong about Mutton and lamb. Lamb is < a year old. Mutton is 2 years or more old.

KeepComingBackParticipantPitch recognition is obviously an issue.

KeepComingBackParticipantwhat like venison, but greasy like pork shoulder steak, or moreso. The lamb like in the store is much milder and somewhat less greasy. Yearling, or mutton, is for manly men.
Do you have some mint jelly for it?

KeepComingBackParticipantHerrera gonna have to hit and keep hitting. Otherwise his defense won’t keep him in the lineup.
KeepComingBackParticipantI’m pretty apathetic at this point. No real point in investing emotionally in this organization as it’s structured anymore. If they haven’t been proactive enough to move MO out and reorganize, than MO will still be making all the decisons. Including when he turns it over to someone else. Firing Marmol is just a stunt. At this point they are a sleep aid. I last until about the sixth inning. 430 comes pretty early.
KeepComingBackParticipantWinn not batting first or second in the lineup is all you need to know about the inadequacy of those making baseball decisions for this organization.
KeepComingBackParticipantIt’s official. Bill and MO have killed the Golden goose. The Cardinals are not competitive or entertaining. Only sick people like me will continue to subject themselves to the abuse. Casual fans will be leaving in droves. It took 2 years. It will take much longer to bring them back. Bill gonna be mad.
KeepComingBackParticipantBikeMike-Do it. Everything’s close to the stadium. Parking is across the street. I walk a couple blocks and don’t pay. I’m not a drinker so I don’t know beer prices, but everything else is comparatively inexpensive. If my memory serves me $20 gets you a good seat. We moved down right behind d the dugout every game. It’s so close you can here the players and coaches interacting. I like that.
KeepComingBackParticipantHammons field in Springfield is a lovely place to take in games. Nice town plenty of reasonable lodging and dining. You can go down and take in Friday night game. Stay thru Sunday afternoon game. It will cost you less than good seats for one game, parking, and concessions at Busch. And it’s fun. Busch isn’t fun.
KeepComingBackParticipantI’m not going to get upset. I saw this coming during the off-season. I made my views known than moved on with the business of being a Cardinals fan. Let’s just hope they finally concede to the fact the way they build their roster has failed.
KeepComingBackParticipantSorry Blinger but they aren’t saving us. They’re the best we have, I give you that.
KeepComingBackParticipantEveryone that was being realistic was saying trade the big contracts and get the rebuild underway. But I don’t beat my head against st the wall when it was clear that this was the direction they insisted on heading. I’m still a fan and support them. But they wasted a boat load of money and a good draft pick, and now the value of those players has cratered.it will be a long climb back.
KeepComingBackParticipantBrian-I understand what you say about them making sweeping changes. I have no doubt they will continue down this path until after 2025. And just maybe MO has earned that respect of going out on his own terms. But I wish he would start the rebuild now instead of insisting on the current path for another year and a half. Than it takes another 3-4 years.
KeepComingBackParticipantBrian-You are as knowledgeable as anyone about the mechanics of our system outside the major league level. So in your opinion, what does it take to fix the Cardinals? I’m sure the answer is somewhere in the 63 pages of this thread. I don’t have time to read thru it all. Or maybe what it takes has changed since this thread was started. I’m sure I don’t know, but I have this feeling it’s going to be a 3-4 year process. Complete reorganization from the top down.
