Yeah just think how Winn’s offensive production might look next year, TD….JoJo on to pitch here in the 7th with 2 out and cubbies at 2nd & 3rd in a 4-3 Chicago ballgame. And JoJo induces an inning ending ground out to 2nd base.
I honestly think Oli made the right call. Mikolas has not been good this year and our best RP are more likely to pitch well to win the game. They are rested and we only have 5 games before another off day

Call it a sizzling ground rule double, JJ. And speaking of doubles, Goldy just hit a 2 out double, but Arenado didn’t come through. We head to the 8th with Chicago leading 4-3…….we need this game!
I thought Oli tried to save a lead he didn’t have. Jumped the gun. Let your 200 IP guy pitch the next and maybe we get Miles, and the pen, a lead to save.
JoJo yields an uncharacteristic 3 straight singles to start the cub 8th, but fortunately the first batter(Suzuki) was out trying to take 2nd base on a ball in the dirt that Herrera kept in front of him and then threw out Suzuki. Then JoJo strikes out Hoerner swinging. Bush grounds out to Gorman at 2nd and JoJo escapes unscathed…..whew. Now let’s get these guys!
Ah yeah obviously Oli. Multitasking and not reading what I write. Mikolas likely goes out there and gives up runs and then still doesn’t finish the 7th meaning you have to use RP anyway. I recall a couple of times this year of that pattern occurring when Oli let Mikolas try to go for the 7th.
Bling, Goldy dropped the throw from Gorman. The throw wasn’t great, but it went in Goldy’s glove and stayed for a second and fell right out
Two years ago Walker Winn Graceffo and McGreevy were all at Springfield. It was well worth the trip. Winn was the best than and is now.
Leiter center stage for Chicago in the 8th. Let’s light Leiter up shall we. And Burly gets the ball rolling with a base knock to right….sweet start. Now Gorman whacks a base hit to right with Burly applying the brakes at 2nd. NO DOUBLE PLAYS GUYS!
Ouch! Herrera caught looking on one that just nipped the outside corner. Winn needs to come through here….pops out to Bush at 1st base and we’re an abysmal 2-11 with runners in scoring position tonight. Carp PHing……base hit to right and here comes Burly trudging around 3rd and he’s going to be out by a country mile….safe…safe! How in blazes did Burly get under that tag….the late great Harry Houdini couldn’t have got under that tag, but Burly somehow did….tie ballgame.
