I just now noticed that the Oriole’s 23 year old SS leads the Big Leagues in HR’s with 15. He’s also the Baltimore tem leader with 31 RBI’s. Don’t know what sort of a mitt he brings to the left side of the IF, but he certainly swings the bat with a bit more authority than the great Mark Belanger…
I also noticed that the Orioles happen to have a 26 year old catcher that can swing the bat. Baltimore looks to be in good shape at 2 key positions for several more seasons.
The Orioles also look to have a pretty deep pitching staff with the addition of our old nemesis Burnes. At any rate, that Baltimore organization seems to be entirely focused on winning baseball games. Meanwhile, the Cardinals have unveiled new uniforms that have a logo emblazoned across the front of the jersey that means something like, “The Water Closet”…
Orioles blah blah blah, they got even less for Flaherty than Mo did, as impossible as that seems. We will put them in their place.
The O’s bit the bullet and took their lumps for a few years, getting high draft picks and picking good prospects. Now they are rolling again.
Our club meanwhile has stayed more risk averse, which lessens the chance of being big losers, but also of being big winners.
On another note, I like when the Orioles are in town as it features the original St. Louis Browns franchise playing back in St. Louis again versus their former ball park tennant, the Cardinals.

Henderson was a second round choice in 2019. Most publications had him ranked in the late teens to early 20’s if I recall. He fell to the start of the second round at pick 42.
The Cardinals wound up drafting Zack Thompson at 19 instead.
I don’t think taking “safe” college pitchers lessens the risk of being losers. A first round bust is a first round bust.
The Orioles also have that happy cartoon bird on their caps. I always liked him. He looks a little like Road Runner.
I followed the o’s pretty closely years ago. Loved B Rob. And all the great pitching. Loved the big Boogy man. Earl was 1 of a kind.
At least the Reds are holding up the division now instead of us.

Yeah, me too, KCB. Everyone remembers those four 20 game winners in their rotation, but between Robinson, Belanger and Johnson, I count 27 GG’s. I may have had a chance to win 20 with that IF…Haha!
I met both F Robby and B Robby and collectibles shows. Got both of their autographs and chatted with them a little.
Well we threatened and both Nolie and Burly put good swings on pitches, but not quite enough.
Crowd looks sparse.
Don’t think there has been a “Kremer” in the bigs since Ray Kremer pitched 100 years ago. He was a pretty good pitcher for the Pirates in the “Roaring Twenties”.

That is worth a shout out in my opinion. Finding at least up down type RPs from atypical means.
Yeah Bikemike, you can’t talk about the Orioles without mentioning the great Frank Robinson. Along with Mays and Aaron, Frank Robinson made up the great HR hitting triumvirate of my youth.
Baltimore essentially gave 2B to Gorman and it ends up costing them a run. Teams just don’t seem to check on the baserunner. Rickey’d steal 100 by the break.
Frank Robinson was one of my favorite players in my childhood days. As 1TD says, him, Mays and Aaron were the big time power guys in the late ‘60s.
Even as a kid, I could not believe the Reds traded Robinson for Milt Pappas. Who was the GM who would do such a thing? Oh yeah, his name is Bill DeWitt.
