Looks like Baltimore’s “TBA” will be “KEB”…..6’3 215 lb. Kyle Edward Bradish. Born and raised in the Peoria-Goodyear(just west of Phoenix) area. Kyle pitched 3 years for the New Mexico State Aggies (Las Cruces, NM), before being drafted in Round 4 in 2018 by the Angels. Kyle’s first career win came in 2022 for Baltimore vs the St. Louis Cardinals…..at one point retiring 11 straight Cardinal batters. Kyle sports a lifetime record of 16-14, with a 3.63 ERA. This past February he was diagnosed with a sprain in the ulbar collateral ligament…..which is the ligament that shoots up the inner side of the elbow, that helps support the elbow when conducting certain motions……like throwing a baseball. Well Bradish got us in 2022, so it’s our turn to get the better of him here in 2024. Let’s call this one 7-5 Cards with both Arenado and Babe Siani finding the cheap seats with bat in hand.

I should have known it was Lance getting the turn tonight when the lady at the counter told me they were all out of Bavarian Bismarks this morning. He’s been fun to watch this season, but if you ever encounter him at the doughnut shop, give LL plenty of room and take care that you don’t lose an arm or a leg in a pinch point…

Still waiting for Hal 9000 to spit out the lineup. Ollie is probably pacing back and forth.

Obviously the number of home games will be different at this point, but the best I can tell is that the Cardinals are ranked 10th in attendance so far. In the NL the Dodgers, Phillies, Padres, Giants and our friends at Wrigley Field have all drawn more baseball fans to their venue than have the Cardinals. Pretty sure that’s tickets and not real live turnstile clicks.

Need to place Burleson in that 3 slot. With the way he’s ripping the baseball with that left-handed swing of his, it’s only a matter of time before he’s referred to as “The Portly Splinter”…

Din-din today came from the cafeteria at the naval base where I was employed for 30+ years. I was back on base and stopped at the cafeteria. Meatloaf, mashed potatoes/gravy, green beans, one of those big fluffy dinner rolls, and some blackberry cobbler for dessert. It was a to-go order so I ate when I got home. And I also ran into one of the really hot gals that I remembered from there. Unfortunately, time takes it’s toll, if you know what I mean……

Me and Whitey Herdog will be on the couch tonight starting with the Padres and Reds from Crosley Field. Then we will switch over to the Orioles and Redbirds from Sportsman’s Park in time for the first pitch. We will end the evening tonight with the DBacks and Doyers from Doyer Stadium.

And I agree with Pugs, I expect Norman Avocado to jack a dong tonight. He’s only got, what, four on the year? He is certainly due. And I also agree with the 7-5 final score.

Haha…Yeah, time waits for no man…or woman! And I’m thinking those big fluffy cafeteria dinner rolls are similar to the ones they used to serve in the school cafeteria when I was a kid. Those are without question the top of the heap!

1td, a while back, when Goldy was really struggling and Burly was starting to heat up, I also suggested Burleson bat third. Some astute poster here responded that Burleson should be batting third for Memphis. Wonder if that poster still feels that way. lol

I saw some information on our local weather report that showed a national map and had severe weather a possibility with the eastern Missouri area included.

Din-din will either be chili dogs, or (lame) one of those nights where we pick out a frozen dinner from the freezer. I might miss a good part of this one as we plan on going to our local ward’s town hall meeting.

I will disagree on the outcome, as I see the Birds of Baltimore taking the final two in the series. We had a nice game last night, but that club is a lot better than us and will in all likelihood grab the next two.

Yeah, Goldschmidt’s still struggling. I’m not sure about Burleson in the 3 slot, but there’s no question that he’s swinging the bat better than I’ve ever seen him do so in these last several games. I mean, 12 for his last 25 constitutes scorching hot. I think it was Bikemike who recently mentioned Burleson’s quiet and compact rip. I’ve always felt he looked good in the box, but the end results had never lived up to appearances until recently. He rarely K’s, which is normally the sign of a natural hitter, so hopefully he’ll continue to be successful. The next step I’d like to see would be a few more TB’s. He looks like a strong kid, so I’m looking for a bit more power. I’m getting greedy…Haha! Ay any rate, I know you’re one of his biggest fans, Shady, and you were one of the few that championed his cause earlier in the season when he was scuffling.

Yeah, there’s line of activity west of StL. that looks like it could arrive right about game time. Hopefully it’ll sidestep to the north, but I don’t know. Might be enough water to dampen the proceedings.

1td, that’s a good take on where Burleson has been with the Cards and is at, right now. I want to see more power from Burly, too. Yeah, I’ve been touting Burleson for a couple years. And took a lot , I mean a lot , of heat for it. lol Glad to see him starting to live up to his fine hitting potential. He’s really helped the offense, lately. Especially, in Contreras’ absence.

    And I agree with Pugs

You know what they say about great minds, Rat.

Hope the rain steers north-east of Busch so we can get this puppy in without any delays. I went the BicycleMike route with din-dins tonight with a couple of chili dogs with onions. I swung on by an A&W drive thru, intending to get one Papa Burger and one dog, but the lady said it was buy one get one free on the dogs. So there I sat contemplating whether to get both the Papa Burger and the 2 dogs or something smaller. Finally I gazed down at the ol’ belly and opted to go just with the 2 dogs and a large root beer float.

    I think I’ll trust Nootbaars strike zone. You don’t earn a .120 IsoD by being a hack-a-holic.

Burleson has always had a nice swing. It’s just that he never met a strike he didn’t like. His improvement is because he’s become more selective. Simple as that. Plate discipline. Now he seems to have some.
Burly minor league carrer .300 avg 850 OPS. So I’m guessing a certain poster isn’t the only person aware of his offensive potential. Only problem was no one seemed to be aware of how truly horrid his defense was. I give him a lot of credit. He’s made major improvement the last year plus. I’m sure it didn’t come thru osmosis. And yes, Dom, I think he’s ready for the 3 hole.

Burleson now 13 for his last 26, and that was one of the few baseballs that I’ve seen Gorman barrel up on that didn’t leave the playing field. 1-0 good guys.

Dang, needed Carlson to move along Donny, as Herrera did for Gorman, so Goldys double drives in Donny.

Too bad that baseball caught the bump-out in RF or Donovan may have had a chance to score on the Goldschmidt double.
