We’re 15 miles west of the ballpark and it hasn’t rained a drop. I hope I’m wrong, but I’m guessing their plan is that they’re not going to take any chances. I think they there’s a decent chance they’ll scratch tonight’s game and play a day/nighter tomorrow.

jj-cf-stlParticipantThey can skip the Libby start now, throw Mikolas instead.

Today’s game has been postponed. They’ll play a split doubleheader on July 13May 24, 2024 at 8:47 pm #253469I never got a drop either. Powder puff ball.
May 24, 2024 at 8:50 pm #253470Well shoot – wanted to hear Chip and Joe banter. But that’s how it goes – I imagine they will try to reschedule.

KeepComingBackParticipantdid. Sutcliffe was another guy
I played little league against Sutcliffe in Independence. My recollections are not happy ones.

May 25, 2024 at 6:42 am #253479If Mother Nature had been Cardinal friendly, she would have waited 2-3 innings before she unleashed her fury. It would have been nice not to have faced Imanaga in an official capacity in this series. But with that being said, someone is going to batter that guy good soon. He’s good, but he’s not Fergie Jenkins or Rick Sutcliffe good.
May 25, 2024 at 7:19 am #253480I’m 10-12 miles upwind from Busch and there was not a drop of rain until after 9 pm. I didn’t see any lightning until after 9 either, but wasn’t looking out the window the whole time. The whole delay was stupid. No matter, Imaginaga will meet his match today when the big red lumber company unloads on him.
May 25, 2024 at 8:05 am #253488I like your thinking, Bling. Extending another shout-out to Shota (Imanaga), he seems to pitch much better abroad than in his Japanese homeland. He pitched in Australia a few years ago too and registered an ERA south of 1.00. Cardinals need to be sitting on that dandy change of his…..because it will be heading their way. Turns 31 later this summer.
May 25, 2024 at 10:01 am #253503Clearly Marmol and Mo’s fault. You have a Buck in town and you allow a rain out…
May 25, 2024 at 11:58 am #253510Shota shmota, they didn’t want him getting roughed up.
May 25, 2024 at 1:54 pm #253523If I recall correctly we could have had Juan Soto for Walker and Gorman.
Anybody wish we had pulled the trigger on that trade two years ago now?
Walker and Gorman are making $1.5M combined this year. Soto is making $31M all by himself. I think we know which door Bill DeWitt is going to choose.
