KeepComingBackParticipantThe stink thing is easy. We have gone from teaching fundamentals to teaching launch angles and spin rates.
I also think every move this organization makes at this point is clearly aimed at trying to insure 3 million plus clicks at the turnstiles. To this point, that has been a success. When that fails, maybe they go back to building the best product possible. Do you really believe they would be paying Goldy Arenado and Contreras if they didn’t think they would fill the seats? Because it sure isn’t because they win games. Until those big contracts quit tilting the boat and MO goes to pasture, we won’t be able to assemble a winning roster and start winning the way it has to be done by midmarket teams in the current structure of mlb. It has to be a BLEND of veteran contracts and cost controlled players DEVELOPED by the organization. Than you have to have smart experienced baseball people running things on the field without interference from the front office. We don’t have any of this. At this point, for me, I need to just enjoy watching the games and worry less about winning.
KeepComingBackParticipantWinn in the 2 hole is the move. Bet they don’t do it
KeepComingBackParticipantI really am frustrated. I guess I need to stop caring. Matz aND Mikolas are both signed thru 25. We all know they aren’t going anywhere. Nobody working for the Cardinals has a clue on roster or lineup construction. We insist on forcing guys hitting a buck fifty into premium run producing positions. The fact Brandon Crawford is on this team makes me vomit. What the heck I bet Mrs Carpenter appreciates the 2 million dollar donation while getting Matt out of her hair at the same time.
We extend a manager who should have been fired. I think watching the young guys is the only reason I watch. And Burly. I love me some Burly.April 30, 2024 at 7:44 pm in reply to: StL 2024 Game #30 thread – Tuesday, April 30 at Tigers #250215
KeepComingBackParticipantWhats our options Dom? Lib?

KeepComingBackParticipantWhoa…Burleson with the 3 run tater off of the lefty! Where the heck is Shady?
Shady’s like a pop-up ad.He will show.
KeepComingBackParticipantI think sending Pages down when Carlson is back is the right move. You can then move Donovan to full time DH/Util with Noot in LF, Siani in CF, and Carlson in RF. That is our best defensive alignment.
I hope Siani sticks in the roster, but it will be hard for him to stay when Edman gets back.
Just hope MO thinks of that.
KeepComingBackParticipantIf you needed someone to put the ball in play to win a game, who do you want? Goldy, Arenado, or the guy (almost) everybody had made fun of the last month?
KeepComingBackParticipantPathetic arenado and goldy.
KeepComingBackParticipantSometimes announcers say the dumbest things. There’s 2 guys on base whom were both walked. 1 out men on 2nd and 3rd. Announcer declares he’s not worried if he walks the batter. Think about it. You want to pitch with the bases loaded with walked batters?
Nice job Lib
KeepComingBackParticipantI earned run. That’s pretty good isn’t it Blinger?
KeepComingBackParticipantJJ-Those guys could hit some. Siani cannot.
KeepComingBackParticipant1/3 of our payroll goes to 2 guys we are paying to supply middle of the order power who are not providing much of anything. Our cf provides less offense than a pitcher. Kudos to our pitching or we would be out of contention already.
KeepComingBackParticipantThanks for putting these up Brian. It makes it easy to come right here for game time and starting pitchers. And thanks to Blinger for getting the lineups in.
KeepComingBackParticipantOK so know one wants to know why Winn isn’t in the lineup. Thank me for doing your homework. It’s a scheduled day off so he gets 2 in a row to help with inflamed back. He had a choice of Wednesday or today. He picked today because he wanted to hit against Monty. Your welcome!
KeepComingBackParticipantYou can only use the 7 day free trial once.

KeepComingBackParticipantThat weather should pass before first pitch

KeepComingBackParticipantI would sit Donovan and reward Winn by moving him to the leadoff spot.
KeepComingBackParticipantBrian I think that’s why the last 2 off-seasons MO says one thing than it doesn’t happen. He is vetoed by the owner. How the players that are here are handled is a different issue. How much involvement does upper management have in the day to day lineup and bullpen. It’s substantial imo.
KeepComingBackParticipantThey showed you last night what it takes. Pitching defense and timely hitting. Age old recipe. Players doing what they’re paid to do. They haven’t proven they’re capable of doing it for any length of time since 2022.

KeepComingBackParticipantHitting a baseball is the toughest skill in sport. (For some of us, it’s a golf ball, but I digress) The pressure when your team is losing games has to be massive.
KeepComingBackParticipantIf there were anyone that had potential to help now I think they would be here.

KeepComingBackParticipantIs there such a thing as a must win in April? Of course not. Maybe for fans. I’m grumpy about the team right now, and like a lot of fans, whatever I say is derived from the frustrations of what has turned into a losing organization. Until they start functioning as a winning organization, they’re going to be hearing a lot of noise from outside. If this continues thru 2024, I can’t imagine MO, Oli, et al surviving to mess up 2025.

KeepComingBackParticipantI’m skeptical Edman is close to playing.

KeepComingBackParticipantBill and MO killed the Golden goose? Looks like it. I can’t imagine the fan base returning in droves like they did this year if they continue on the current trajectory. Of course Bill would suddenly decide its time to clean house. That would save a fee clicks of the turnstiles.

KeepComingBackParticipantI tried to get on board with trying to compete this year. Why fight what you have no control over. I’m ready to head to Springfield for AA.
