Yea Bling Carlson was going good and Walker steamrolled him. That was his fault.
Some genius decided Bloneil was a centerfielder. Carlson worked hard that winter and came into camp and played well. Got benched anyway. Carlson is just another development failure. Go ahead, give him away. He will have the last laugh.JJ we agree on many things. Carlson still has a chance to be an above average outfielder. Siani doesn’t. Play Carlson every day. Haven’t they seen this guy enough to know that he requires consistent playing time?
Every single is a double with Herrera catching. One of the many issues for this team. I’ve accepted that anywhere close to 500 is the best this team will do. I expect worse.
I was kind of disappointed Whitey flipped Rollie. I wanted to see him up close live game. But we did alright with the moves he made.
You guys can brag about Goldys walk fueled on base streak all you want. It doesn’t hide his 350 slg 656 ops 25 rbi. He belongs in the lower third of the order until his production numbers improve.
Batting goldy 3rd and Burleson 7th is something Oli does. And he’s a dumb manager. Goldy hasn’t shown any reason to believe he is coming back to previous production levels. He’s been given ample opportunity. Bat him 7th and if he recovers move him back up.
When you look at the Cardinals roster, it’s hard to believe anylitics played much of a role in it’s construction. Is leadership a metric?
, again, I find it funny that the Cardinals are so bad at analytics, but people who got their start in the Cardinals organization have now built the analytics departments for the Astros and Orioles.
Maybe those people recognized their talents would be wasted with the Cardinals organization. I’m curious why many people have the assumption that the Cardinals are in fact heavily driven by anylitics? Is the anonymous information accurate? Maybe Brian could share some light.
I’m done with any more Burleson talk. He’s improved exponentially and I wil follow his career with interest. Thanks to Brian for not letting our resident pest completely spam the board.

Hated it from the first time I walked in. Stopped walking for a moment to take a look around and within seconds some smart azz usher came up and told me to keep moving. It wasn’t crowded and I wasn’t blocking anyone. As soon as you leave your seats and walk to the concession area, you are done watching baseball. You are trapped like a rat in their other money making adventures, souvenirs etc. I used to go to 1 game per series on the homestands. Not anymore.
Let’s face it guys. 3 of our projected starters are on the IL. The two guys we paid to produce runs are both abject failures. Our projected right fielder is learning to hit in the minors. Our bench was selected for “Leadership”, not because they could play. The guys left are to be applauded. But it’s going to be a roller coaster ride trying to score enough runs.

A nice offensive lineup today. With Winn and Burly at the top and Carp and Carlson at 8 and 9. Need some slugging from Goldy, Gorman and Arenado in the middle.

OK. So I did a 45 mile bikeride with 3k ft vertical climbing this morning. Cleaned up went to Walgreens than picked up carryout @ Poor Richard’s. Chicken wing special. Hot 🔥sauce on the side and blue cheese dipping sauce. Caesars salad and cheese garlic bread. Large bottle of diet Pepsi purchased at Walgreens. Knocked that off no problem while watching the start of the Cardinals. Day going as planned. Now I have I nice hot cup of dunking doughnuts kurig cup coffee so I don’t nod out and miss the game. This poor defense had to stop.
Good posts all. We can’t join them (the big spenders) so we have to find a different way to beat them. Brave New World. We have to learn to live in it.
