First pitch Winn was hook happy on the outer half, and adjusted the next pitch.

Man I get frustrated when our #3 hole hitter can’t put a better swing on the ball than that ahead in the count.

He is still pitching us the same way.
    Couple up, couple down…

The Cardinals just need to keep hanging close and get Shoto out of the game. The Cub bullpen isn’t that great.

Well – at least Imanaga will be done for the day.

They stretched him out a little today with the most pitches in his rookie season at 103. I’ve seen enough of him.

Haap with a three run homer that carried about 2 rows deep into the left field bleachers.

It felt like we were playing with house money today given the matchup. But the close score gave me hope. Now most of that has been sucked away.

Looking forward to getting Edman, Contreras, Nootbaar, and Goldschmidt back.

The pitching moves leave me speechless.

The .500 mark is like an electric dog fence for the Cardinals.

If Roycroft just makes the play instead of bobbling the ball, maybe that move works. And frankly, the pitch from King wasn’t bad to Haap. Low and in. Haap got a little help from the wind and the short Wrigley fences. While I didn’t like taking Pallante out, it wasn’t a terrible move. The real issue is the offense has been shut down. Not much Marmol can do with 4 singles.

And Gorman gets called out on a pitch off the plate to end it.

The worst was Roycroft entering the game with 1 out in the 4th and he didn’t allow an ER. I just don’t get removing a SP’er in a scoreless game who’s only thrown 58 pitches in less than 4 innings of work.

With this last 5 games the Cardinals have scored 4 runs or less in 43 of 69 games, and have the second worse offense in the NL in terms of runs scored

Yeah, the Cardinals seem to be assembled with explosive bolts designed to detonate at the .500 mark.

Boy Oli sure knows how to suck the life out of a ball club and fan base doesn’t he?

    Stupid Idiot!

I better not see Crawfish and Salsa boy tomorrow. If you were gonna tank a game you might have well inserted both of them in when you foolishly yanked Pallante.

That Sushimi guy shut down our offense, so I guess Ollie’s follies didn’t matter in the end. You score one run you ain’t winning.

Do you guys realize that if the homeplate umpire would have called the strike three on Suzuki the Cubs may not have scored any runs that inning?

Even the Cubs announcers were amazed at that blown call. It was CLEARLY strike three, no doubt about it. The HP umpire really hosed us this game.

I recall an important contest in which Rafael Furcal scored the baseball game’s only run in the 1st inning. For the remainder of the grueling 8 innings I was thinking to myself, “One run won’t win this game.” Chris Carpenter proved me wrong.

This season’s Big League pitching leader in shutouts is tied with this season’s leader in no hitters with one.

Do you guys realize that if the homeplate umpire would have called the strike three on Suzuki the Cubs may not have scored any runs that inning?

And you do realize our idiot manager took out a perfectly good starter after 59 pitches?

This guy keeps doing stuff to infuriate a fan base and keeps the IPAD army on his back. He hasn’t bothered me much recently but this window licking decision to pull his starter just adds more kerosene to the fire.

I think hanging around 500 is going to be the best we do this season. This roster has to be turned over if you want better.
