I hope Carp is the lineup for this one. He has a history of hitting well at Wrigley.

I think I recall that the last time one of these games was on this silly Roku gadget, I actually figured out how to tune in without having to use a CC or key in my SSN and mother’s maiden name…Problem is that I don’t remember precisely how I did it…Haha! Oh well, it’ll be touch and go come game time.

How many more Roku/Apple TV/Peacock/Dog Tv games do we have left? You’d think that these streaming platforms would pick better teams than our barely treading water Redbirds.

I hope this is the last one, Jedi. Roku is the only one I’ve ever had any luck tapping into. It used to really bother me when these games wee hijacked by the streaming nonsense, but I’ve grown accustomed to it. Cable TV can even be a hassle these days with all the jumping around to different networks. I miss the Saturday Game of the Week on NBC…Haha!

I just set up so I can watch the game. Roku is easy peazy.

After yesterday’s disappointment we need a little joy, perhaps a din-din of roast beef and Yorkshire pudding with baked potatoes and some carrots and onions sauteed in butter will do the trick, especially if we add an out-of-season pumpkin pie to the mix. I mean c’mon, it’s the Cubs! Rah Cardinals!

Although it was up yesterday, I didn’t see it until this morning. There’s an article about Lou Brock on TCN to commemorate the June 15th trade that sent the great HOF’er to the Cardinals. The article is accompanied by a famous photo of Lou just as he’s opening the throttle and instantly accelerating up to speed on the way to stealing one of his 938 SB’s. At any rate, that famous photo is the image that entirely defines and embodies the great Lou Brock. The perfect symmetry and balance of his physical technique along with the look on the great ballplayers face says, “There’s no way in the world that am I going to be denied!” Whenever he reached base, he was really something else to behold. Thanks for posting that iconic photo, TCN.

I thought I had every tv channel imaginable, but am not entirely sure I have this Roku or Jedi’s Dog Tv? Taillon has been mighty darn good in most of his starts this year, but today he’s going to hopefully get pelted. This just feels like a day when our Cardinal batters are going to have a banner day, doesn’t it? Let’s call this one 8-5 Good Guys, shall we.

There’s been some dandy din-dins put up on the board of late, compliments of Cardinal In France, Rat, BicycleMike, Bling, TD, Scotty and a couple others. I have plagiarized a few of them for my own dining pleasure. Tonight it’ll be Applegate hot dogs (easily the best hot dogs on the planet), potato salad, deviled eggs and 3 Popeye’s apple cinnamon pies for good measure.

Sweet…..I do have this Roku channel. With 2 out Goldy and Gorman whack base hits. Gorman then swipes 2nd base, but then Arenado whiffs on one well off the plate to retire the side. We’ll get em next inning. Winds blowing straight out to left today which should account for a few dingers.

    Gorman made Tallon work.

He set Winn & Burleson down on 4 pitches…Was only through 7 pitches when Godly got his hit. Gorman made him throw 7 pitches and got a hit…

I’ve noticed that almost whenever a RHP’er is way ahead in the count when facing Arenado, he can get him to chase that low and away pitch out of the strike zone for the K. It’s almost like he knows what’s coming, but he still can’t lay off that pitch.

Miles sets them down in order in the bottom of the 1st with only about 10 pitches worth of energy.
Yes, have never seen Arenado chase as much as he has this year, TD.

Crawford drills a 1 out double to the ivy in right. Pedro Pages ( properly pronounced “Pa-hez”) then ramrods a 2 run homer to left! Pedro has always been one of Jnevel’s favs……and now the rest of us are finding out why.

Now Siani with a solid base hit. Taillon getting touched up pretty good in the 2nd.

Two runs…..heck, 5 runs aren’t going to win this game, so we better tack on a few more soon.

Yeah we bailed out Taillon that inning with Siani getting picked off 1st and then Winn striking out. It sure would have been nice to have had Taillon accrue an additional 7 or 8 pitches that inning. 2-0 Cards.

I think Pages is going to put Herrera out of a job.

If he keeps this up he will, Scotty. Could Herrera then be shipped out before the deadline? I think Pedro’s parents are in attendance for this series……maybe they should follow us on this road trip.

Miles sets them down in fine fashion again in the 2nd. 3 K’s thus far.

Cards only muster a 1 out Goldy single in the 3rd. Taillon now sitting at 51 heaves. Cards with 6 hits already….keep this up and we’ll have an even-steven 18 for the game.

Pugs – thanks for the shout out on Pages. Yes, he’s definitely always been a favorite of mine. He is just so good at everything except hitting (which is a big part). But even with his hitting, he just always seems to be able to pick a key spot to get a hit. But I really just love the way he carries himself and how he inspires others to be better.
