jj-cf-stlParticipantCouple of singles from the righties.
June 12, 2024 at 7:22 pm #256028That ball was in to Carlson, but too close to take with two strikes.
June 12, 2024 at 7:22 pm #256029Carlson, off with his head.
June 12, 2024 at 7:23 pm #256030Rally killers at the end of the lineup. Carlson needed to put the ball in play.
June 12, 2024 at 7:23 pm #256031Siani can keep his head since he’s not supposed to be able to hit.
June 12, 2024 at 7:24 pm #256032Dylan did everything right. Ignored the balls. Swung at all the strikes. Should have walked in a run. Instead he gets called out on ball 4. Got to be frustrating.

jj-cf-stlParticipantPitched around Donny to get to our CFr’s. Worked.
June 12, 2024 at 7:27 pm #256035He needs to foul those off with two strikes. Can’t count on getting the call.
June 12, 2024 at 7:28 pm #256036It’s always been my impression that the more a player struggles, the more the HPU seems to make certain any close calls go against him. It’s almost like they smell blood.
June 12, 2024 at 7:32 pm #256038Carlson hasn’t had a lot of at bats yet this season. But I distinctly remember 3 times now he’s been called out on ball 4.
June 12, 2024 at 7:36 pm #256042It was also my impression that Albert Pujols almost never had a borderline ball/strike call go against him. But I also never saw him struggle in 11 seasons…Haha!
June 12, 2024 at 7:39 pm #256043No. All his struggles came in the 10 years after St Louis.
June 12, 2024 at 7:40 pm #256045Reynolds didn’t look too good on that chance in LF. He’ll want to burn that reel…Haha!
June 12, 2024 at 7:40 pm #256046Matt Carpenter is another one who gets all the borderline calls. At least that’s my impression.
June 12, 2024 at 7:41 pm #256047Reynolds has always been a poor fielder. But he can definitely hit.
June 12, 2024 at 7:42 pm #256048Yadier Molina on the other hand would struggle at the plate at times, but still seemed to almost always have close ball/strike calls go his way. I sometimes got the impression that the HPU was thinking to himself, “Heck, he knows the strike zone better that I do”…Haha!
June 12, 2024 at 7:42 pm #256049All I ask for is consistency. If that’s a strike and stays a strike ok. I think it’s a better game when guys are swinging.
June 12, 2024 at 7:57 pm #256050
jj-cf-stlParticipantCarlson and Siani get their reprieves.
June 12, 2024 at 7:57 pm #256051Tough luck for the Burleson and Redbirds, but that was an outstanding turn on the 4-6-3. You only see that one in the Big Leagues.
June 12, 2024 at 8:03 pm #256052
jj-cf-stlParticipantOur righty bats have 6 of the 8 hits. Best case for them.
June 12, 2024 at 8:17 pm #256053
jj-cf-stlParticipantCarlson has had 3 important PA’s. Cashed in once.
June 12, 2024 at 8:18 pm #256054I guess I shouldn’t complain about a 3 run lead, but the Cardinals have 11 hits and the Pirates are fortunate to remain within reach.
June 12, 2024 at 8:23 pm #256055
jj-cf-stlParticipantHerrera is wearing those days off well.
June 12, 2024 at 8:26 pm #256056Looks like hot dog and beer sales are down. Willie Jr. won’t be happy about that.
June 12, 2024 at 8:32 pm #256057
jj-cf-stlParticipantThey’ve shaved the ticket price so it too can be spent at the game too.
