…day baseball in Wrigley and reminiscing about Brock-for-Broglio is pretty cool. I tell ya, being an old guy now and thinking back, sometimes I wish I could relive those days – collecting cards, playing little league, and all that. Really special times.
June 15, 2024 at 1:16 pm #256391That would be the second greatest thing he ever did.
June 15, 2024 at 1:21 pm #256393Haha…Great things happen to great people!
June 15, 2024 at 1:29 pm #256395
jj-cf-stlParticipantBack to back Andre!
June 15, 2024 at 1:29 pm #256396Yeah, me too, Bikemike. I can still smell that gum and your nickname reminded me of the days when we would ride our bikes in the blistering heat of summer vacation while barefooted, no shirt and wearing cutoffs. If they saw you doing that today, the state would charge our parents with neglect…Haha!
June 15, 2024 at 1:32 pm #256397
jj-cf-stlParticipantHis slider is dialed in early.
June 15, 2024 at 1:35 pm #256398
jj-cf-stlParticipantK on Bellinger with the death ball. It’s a good pitch when he doesn’t bounce it.
June 15, 2024 at 1:36 pm #256399I know this is near an act of sacrilege, but I’ll dare say that I like the Cubs classic pinstriped and blue home threads. It’s my idea of a Big League uniform.
June 15, 2024 at 1:41 pm #256400Carlson took a couple of good rips against this pitcher.
June 15, 2024 at 1:41 pm #256401
jj-cf-stlParticipantLine drive gone bad.
June 15, 2024 at 1:45 pm #256402
jj-cf-stlParticipantLost the slider feel and didn’t get enough inside when he went back in.
June 15, 2024 at 1:47 pm #256403
jj-cf-stlParticipantPallante pounding righties inside 👍👍
June 15, 2024 at 1:50 pm #256404
jj-cf-stlParticipantDeath ball K on another lefty.
June 15, 2024 at 1:51 pm #256405Carlson having backflashes of getting ran over by Walker with the Bison bearing down on him.
June 15, 2024 at 1:52 pm #256406Very nice job of not panicking and continuing to throw strikes by Pallante.
June 15, 2024 at 1:59 pm #256407
jj-cf-stlParticipantA couple up, a couple down….
I like up early, instead of chasing the splitters.June 15, 2024 at 2:03 pm #256408
jj-cf-stlParticipantVery workman like Andre
June 15, 2024 at 2:06 pm #256409If Pallante goes 5 and it’s tied, how do we line up the pen? I assume Fernandez is not available. Helsley might not be available and probably shouldn’t pitch.
King, Liberatore, Leahy, Kittredge, Romero, and Roycroft are the other 6.
June 15, 2024 at 2:12 pm #256410
jj-cf-stlParticipantBurly doubles, Goldy moves him over for the Arenado sac fly.
1-0 StLJune 15, 2024 at 2:17 pm #256411Wow. Pallante doesn’t get the called third strike on a pitch close to down the middle.
June 15, 2024 at 2:18 pm #256412And then they lose the double play because the shortstop moved to cover the runner going on 3-2. Ugh.
June 15, 2024 at 2:21 pm #256413
jj-cf-stlParticipantLooks quick by Oli. Must be in a hurry to use the pen.
June 15, 2024 at 2:22 pm #256414Pallante then gets a strikeout and Roycroft coming in. Seems a bit early. It isn’t like Pallante is struggling at all. Two groundball singles this inning with one that normally would have gone for a DP.
June 15, 2024 at 2:23 pm #256415And Roycroft immediately gives up a hit on a pitch down the middle on basically an error by Roycroft.
June 15, 2024 at 2:25 pm #256416Suzuki did a great job going to third on the previous play allowing him to score on another slow dribbler.
