Should have been called up 10 games sooner tô make sure he got 130 abs and lose rookie eligibility. The consequences of losing a year of control for beng rookie of the year are too high tô risk. Especially when they can be avoided só easily.

Not sure where I read it but read that Hence’s motion was high arm stress which is why they built him up slowly. Didnt say whether they tweeked his motion tô reduce that stress

Craig was an athlete (SS in college and his first year in the org). Baker is basically a bat. O believe Craig got as high as #7 on our prospect list só he was more highly regarded. Baker might be ranked that high in the system this Winter if he could play anywher but 1B. But since he cant ……

#1 available starter. #1 available reliever. Decente guys in Flaherty and Dejong. Carson reportedly being available. And we cant get a top 100 prospect?

Just a curiosity – if Richardson had gone undrafted would there have been a cap on his signing amount?

Agree with Euro on that this could help save Waino’s arm for more critical games.

Can Hjerpe really be considered a solid prospect with a 86 mph fastball?

Brian, can you do some Sluething and find out what minor league free agent signings have opt out classes if not called up and if só what dates (particularly Suárez, Motter, and the catcher whose name escapes me)

I though I read once that minor leageu free agent signings with a certain amount of service time (dont remember how much) were required tô be given an opt out.

Gags, i would say definately not. Particularly since we have Herrera, Pages and others still in major league camp. When those guys get sent tô minors camp it can easily knock everone down at least a rung.

I forget which game I watched this past week but I noticed Olie using the LH relievers against exclusive RH hitters. I thoughy that was smart tô evaluate the lefties against righties as well as lefties

With Pacheco on the 40 Man roster if the Cards thought he was Hurt they couldnt have optioned him out. They would be obliged tô put him on the IL I believe.

As it is I highly expect Pacheco tô filé a grevience.

I also suspect that their is more tô the Pacheco story than we know. Teams dont put gays with his kind of record on waivers unless there is more tô the story. Especially with 2 options left. Add in the fact the team hás stated that they are trying tô make their pitching staff more strikeout oriented. Why would you get rid of the systems best strikeout pitcher?

I think Marmol calling out Buckner works long term strategically. If there is bad blood better tô make it public. Buckner is possibly going tô make bad calls against the Cards because of whatever problem existe. Now he Will be under a microscope when calling Cards games and that make it harder tô be unfair.

Reyes’ contract with the Dodgers is how a contract for a risky player should be structured. Player gets an opportunity but the team gets a sweetheart deal ($3 million option) if the player succeeds.

Gays, they can send Ver Hagen tô the minors if he doesnt make the 26. He hás less than 5 years service time. He would have tô pass through waivers but nobody is taking that contract.

Yep, several Black color analyst (enough tô.probably be near represenative). It is the PBP guys that seem tô be severely underepresented. I would say 80% (or more) of the PBP guys are not formar major league players.

Dont want this tô get political but I think it is an observation worthy of discussion — are there any Black play by play guys at the major league level? Rádio? TV?
