Mudville, Fermin may hit Rh but he has a serious reverse split
No minor league thread yet for this week but rare Monday schedule for minor league teams today.
Ingram was coming off 2 decent games (5 IP with 0 runs) and was rested. Would have seemed more logical to just call him up for a few games
Or Noot pulls an Edman or a Matz and reinjures himself during rehab
I only buy the don’t waste your time because Noot is back soon because of the 40 man roster issue. Of course when you add Reposa for less than 24 hours it is hard to make the case that they are concerned about 40 man roster spots.
For the record I started much of the Dunn talk but not once did I say he should be handed a starting job.
Fermin has 6 or 7 starts. How many would he have if he was hitting above his weight? Dunn may not do better or he may be Bo Hart. Pretty sure Fermin is not another Bo Hart.
Dunn hitting .230? Heck of an improvement over Fermin’s .195 in June!
I think we have plenty of depth. A roster full of pitchers and position players most near the same average level. What we don’t have is enough above average players
Is there one person here who thinks Dunn can’t top Fermin’s .434 OPS? And btw for the month of June that OPS is .385. Fermin may be solid defensively but never heard anyone say his defense was great. Just don’t understand how a team that needs offense can put up with that level. I am sure there are a 100 minor leaguers who could be acquired and put up better numbers even if you don’t like Dunn. If I am a player I am pissed at Mo for not giving us the best shot to win.
Even playing occasionally I think Dunn easily tops .435 OPS. And who knows who is the next Bo Hart? It surely isn’t FerminHence to Memphis?
Don’t sleep on Rotondo. He is older but appears to have good power and is improving
I too like Henderson and hoped he would take Mathews’ spot in Peoria.
Was Raposo even on the ml roster for one game? For 24 hours? A nice bump in minor league salary (40 man roster players get paid more) for basically doing nothing
If Burelson and Pages steal bases on you in the same inning it is time to reevaluate your future as a major league catcher
Actually, I would be in favor of sending Carlson down
One thing to note about Dunn is that he has increased his OPS 5 straight years.
Also while there is talk of little power his iso slugging this year is nearly .200 which is significant power.
My point is Fermin is just continuing what he was doing in Memphis before he got called up
I wonder the last time a player in a 4/33 slump got called up? Only 1 xbase hit also (a double)That’s the point. You replace one or two of those ,100 OPS hitters
I am tired of seeing every blogger and “analyst” say the Cards need pitching and musing about potential trades for pitchers when this team needs bats. It is disgusting laziness in my opinion. We don’t need starters and we don’t need relievers.
But Fermin was in a tremendous slump when he was called up. 4 for his last 33. At least Dunn is hot
Do they lose that much concession revenue? Many teams have contracted that out to a 3rd party haven’t they?
Should be Kloffenstein*
Looking at the bright side…only 2 divisions with smaller divisions leads the Milwaukee has on us. Lots of runaway division leaders
Futures game reps? US team, Crooks
Intl team, Preito ou Bernal
Just my guesses
Reyes was an exciting prospect
