I apologize for not being clear in my December 9th post, addressing Louis’ question, gentlemen. Nicholas Parker “Big Country” Robertson, is NOT ELIGIBLE, and CANNOT be a legitimate candidate for our Top 50 prospect list. Thank you very much.
December 15, 2023 at 8:22 am #239846Oh oh. I have now read conflicting data about Big Country’s rookie status. Brian?

December 15, 2023 at 11:35 am #239859Robertson has 63 days of MLB service time, so he is not eligible for the site’s prospect list.

46 – Yeager – Had a really good year at Mississippi State in 2022 (1.000+ OPS) and had good success in his first full year of pro ball with an .834 OPS. Sure he was a little old at 24 for ending in high A last year, but we are in the late 40s for our list and I like seeing the success.
47 – Rotondo – Almost the exact same story as Yeager except Rotondo plays the OF instead of the INF. He had a 1.000+ OPS at Villanova in 2022 and then an .811 OPS last season between Palm Beach and Peoria (.887 at High A)
December 15, 2023 at 1:25 pm #23986545 Church The next Dane Iorg?
46 Rivas He has a way to go to get to Delvin Perez’s power numbers, but his glove might end up at Springfield next spring. The Texas league might help his offense gain ground.

It seems completely stupid to say that Winn qualities as a prospect and Robertson doesn’t. There have to be rules though. They don’t work too well in this case, where a reliever mostly sits on the bench. A 25 year old with 22 IP is absolutely a prospect.

47. YeagerThree more votes to complete our top 50 Prospects for the 2024 season! If everyone is open to it, I would be willing to count the votes for 5 more slots after we finish these next three. A one-time vote for the next 5 on your top prospects list that may have been missed by our vote. Using the same format where your top vote receives 5 points, and one point less for each of the next 4 slots. As we can see by this last vote, our group has a wide difference of opinion on who has more value as a prospect in the Cardinals system. Please comment whether you would go one extra round or think we should just call it at 50.

50. Emisael Andres Carrera* You have to love the spirit here with so many posters giving the green light to going above and beyond the call of duty and not stopping at a mere 50 top prospects……especially LouisEu’s bold suggestion of going all the way to 100. It’s just this sort of tenacity and unwavering dedication that makes this board #1 in it’s field. I’m on board with doing 60. Mucho gracias, Senor cardsfan64!
December 16, 2023 at 6:30 pm #239920I’m humbled by the depth of knowlwdge many participants have, expecially about the lower level prospects. At this point, the names I have left are guys I never heard of before I started puting my list together. But when I look at those names, I just know that one of them is going to light it up next year and I will be wondering: Where did he come from?
