38. Victor Santos – I’m taking a bit of a flyer here since he was hurt in 2023 but he’s still only 23, will start in AAA, and overall his career MiLB stats are pretty good. Might just be a throw in for the O’Neill trade but given his relative youth he doesn’t seem too bad of a back of the top 50 prospect.

I think Cardinals27, CC and stlcard25 are on to something with someone I totally overlooked……..Alec William Willis. My picks 40-50 were already suddenly in a bit of disarray with the O’Neil transaction and now this. I’ll be recognizing Mr. Willis next round..

Nick Raposo can hit and is a decent catcher. Aaron Antonelli has always held favor with the organization. Brian O’Keefe and Jose Gadoy have made life-changing money catching at the mlb level. I think both sets of players are comparable.

Not that anyone particularly cares, but I thought I would share how I went about setting up my own list this year, since it was different than in the past. I had picked my top 20 in order, and then I had groups of 5, for example 21-25, clumped together as a group but with no particular order within the group. By the time I got up to that group, some would likely already be on the board and I would decide from amongst those remaining what my order would be. After 40, I have a final group of 10 as a clump with no particular order. A few are already on the board, and a few have not even gotten a mention. So it will add a little late inning fun to decide my order of voting for what I have left. Some won’t make it into the top 50 at all, as I have a few from higher on my list that have not gotten in yet, like Redmond and Thomas. Fernandez was a late addition to my list, which I wedged into the 35-40 group, giving that clump 6 guys instead of 5. If we go past 50, I will try to get the rest of my 41-50 group on.

Brandon Komar likely won’t make anyone’s list. He was a rule 5 minor league pick last year who didn’t have that impressive of an ERA at Springfield. But there are a few things I really like about Komar. He’s big and strong and durable. He also kept getting better and better including one 9-inning shutout. And he’s a real competitor on the mound. Now that Rincon and Granillo aren’t such unheralded prospects, Komar is my favorite guy out there who will get no love whatsoever from anyone in the mainstream media. I have him at 39 on my personal list so I’m adding him here.

I don’t see how Komar ever gets another start in the organization. He seems like an older, lesser version of Santos.
He is all the positive things you described, but he is not better than Liberatore, Thompson, Rom, Palante, Robberse, Kloffenstien, McGreevy, Graceffo, Roby, Hence, Rajic, Bedell, etc…
I’m not convinced he is far better than Panigua, Gragg,Lunn, or Conner Thomas.
With Baker, Mills, Hjerpe, Hansen, Mautz, Cornwell. Rincon, and soon Love chasing from behind things look bleak.

I have komar as an organization depth guy. Even if not, the low K/9 guys will have an uphill fight.
