Well that game has a little bit of everything.
I can’t believe the Bums have used 16 different starting pitchers this year.
Nootbar saved the day with the best catch I’ve seen in quite awhile.
Shildt is smiling.
August 4, 2025 at 10:09 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2025 Game #114 thread – Monday, August 4 at Los Angeles Dodgers #289662Looks like we are getting ‘good’ Sonny tonight.
Be fun to win the series in LA and help Schildt out a little.
The Cubs and the Brewers both look like they will be pretty good for the next 2-3 years – It’s going to be tough for the Cardinals to finish better than 3rd for a bit…
August 4, 2025 at 7:23 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2025 Game #114 thread – Monday, August 4 at Los Angeles Dodgers #289634I think they should keep running Gorman out there at 3b every single day until they decide he’s a goner.
He’s not dinged up again is he??
August 4, 2025 at 6:31 am in reply to: St. Louis 2025 Game #113 thread – Sunday, August 3 at San Diego Padres #289560So, Walker is really a DH that can’t hit.
I mean – damn boys – doesn’t he really need to go to AAA and stay there until he’s a AAA all-star?
August 3, 2025 at 7:13 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2025 Game #114 thread – Monday, August 4 at Los Angeles Dodgers #289531Ah, our ‘ace’ is on the mound…..
He IS due for a decent outing.
August 3, 2025 at 7:12 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2025 Game #113 thread – Sunday, August 3 at San Diego Padres #289530He’s a very good athlete and looks fine out there. Moves well, seems more comfortable than Walker in rf.
I can’t remember – what is Walker’s ‘natural’ position?
August 3, 2025 at 6:14 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2025 Game #113 thread – Sunday, August 3 at San Diego Padres #289527Our offense is offensive.
Players we have that can play for anybody:
Winn ss
Hererra lf / dh
Donovan 2bPlayers who are worth keeping:
Contreras c (he doesn’t really hit enough at 1b so let’s move him back behind the plate?)
Scott II cf – I think he WILL hit and then he WILL steal bases
Burleson 4th of / dh – I’d like to keep him aroundPlayers we need to replace via trade/cut:
Pages / Pozo c – both are barley even back up catchers – We need a starting catcher and keep one of these.
Gorman 3b – cant’ hit and is an absolute DISASTER at 3b
Walker rf – can’t hit and is barely serviceable in the field – he just looks uncomfortable at all times – park him at AAA until further notice.
Saggesse / Fermin utility – guys like these are a dime a dozen at the ML level
Nootbar rf – can’t hit enough and can’t stay healthy
Arenado 3b – great player, great career but it’s over. I bet he now regrets killing the Houston trade last winterStarting Pitching: (we need 3 starters better than any of the 5 we have right now)
Gray / Mikolas – jettsion asap
Liberatore – ok as a 3 /4
Pallante / McGreevy – good for 4 / 5 spotsBullpen: Romero can close next year – I guess. If we suck we can dump him at the deadline.
Just whatever – keep cobbling one together this is one thing the Cardinals seem to be able to do reasonably well.
(Wetherholt is killing AAA so maybe he can take over 3b next year?)
August 3, 2025 at 10:50 am in reply to: St. Louis 2025 Game #113 thread – Sunday, August 3 at San Diego Padres #289469I think Jo Jo has to close – we don’t have another L handed arm laying around somewhere to bring up or bring in?
MLB is going to want the A’s to be good when they move to Las Vegas. I expect things like draft position to ‘go their way’.
Bet that.
August 3, 2025 at 10:45 am in reply to: St. Louis 2025 Game #112 thread – Saturday, August 2 at San Diego #289467I just noticed that Gorman was not charged with an error last night. The scorekeeper must be his mom….
Wow, between this draft rule and regional broadcasting rights idiocy, MLB has to be the clown show of all the major sports leagues in America.
August 3, 2025 at 12:40 am in reply to: St. Louis 2025 Game #113 thread – Sunday, August 3 at San Diego Padres #289441Looks like Pallante vs. Cease.
Would be nice to poke our heads back above .500
August 3, 2025 at 12:36 am in reply to: St. Louis 2025 Game #112 thread – Saturday, August 2 at San Diego #289440McGreevy didn’t crumble when he could have.
Gorman better take some extra ground balls.
I think Jo Jo can close even though he tettered a little bit tonight
Walker took the night off. 23 year olds don’t need nights off…
I hope the offense doesn’t go back to sleep tomorrow.
August 2, 2025 at 10:36 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2025 Game #112 thread – Saturday, August 2 at San Diego #289432Well, if Winn stays healthy he should be our SS for a solid decade. Now we just need everything else…
What a clutch hit there.
August 2, 2025 at 10:32 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2025 Game #112 thread – Saturday, August 2 at San Diego #289431Contreras numbers would be great – if he was still a catcher.

He hit it about a mile.
McGreevy off the hook.
August 2, 2025 at 10:10 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2025 Game #112 thread – Saturday, August 2 at San Diego #289423Gorman does get an RBI single – so that is something.
August 2, 2025 at 10:08 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2025 Game #112 thread – Saturday, August 2 at San Diego #289421Gorman needs to hit a HR here to make up for his piss poor D
August 2, 2025 at 10:02 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2025 Game #112 thread – Saturday, August 2 at San Diego #289419I’m done with the pbp for this game.
It’s too depressing lol
