Somebody better tell the Astros they are winning the division…

May 27, 2026 at 6:59 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 new Game #54 thread – Wednesday, May 27 at Milwaukee Brewers #308322ooof – swept. Still 4 games over but this feels like an early ‘danger point’ in the season.
A bad manager can really screw up a team. A good manager is what his players make of him. A great manager (so I’ve read) is worth 4-5 extra wins over the course of a season.
Clubhouse chemistry / mood probably has as much as anything to do with whether an ‘average’ team is a few games over or a few games under .500.
May 16, 2026 at 8:48 am in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #45 thread – Saturday, May 16 vs. Kansas City Royals #307551I demand a complete game 1 hit shutout from Leahy.
If anything, we have catchers trade but – let’s not get ahead of ourselves just yet.
The season could still go either way.
On the glass half full side, if Noot comes back 100% and you replace Scott in the lineup AND Walker keeps it up AND there are no major injuries then – this surely has to be a playoff team.
You always, always, always need more pitching. Do we have any at AAA pushing for a call up?
May 8, 2026 at 7:49 am in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #38 thread – Friday, May 8 at San Diego Padres #306854Yep. Will have to track the score on ESPN.
May 6, 2026 at 12:11 pm in reply to: St. Louis New 2026 Game #36 thread – Wednesday, May 6 vs. Milwaukee Brewers #306751When Nootbar comes back do we figure Scott to Memphis?
Velasquez is 12 for 77 – a .156 BA in Memphis
Oof…
May 3, 2026 at 9:05 am in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #34 thread – Sunday, May 3 vs. Los Angeles Dodgers #306536This will be an acid test for May’s turnaround.
We will continue to see if the league adjusts to Walker’s adjustments to their adjustments to his offseason adjustments.
Speaking of adjustments – Gorman needs to make some and I’m sure he’s trying.
Scott II’s stat line is starting to look cringy.
May 2, 2026 at 9:51 am in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #32 thread – Friday, May 1 vs. Los Angeles Dodgers #306427Walker seems to have adjusted to the adjustments to his adjustments.
He has to be feeling lighter than air this morning.
It works really well as far as I can tell. I’d like to see it just flat out used for all ball & strike calls or triple the number of challenges to 6 for each team. A challenge literally takes 10-15 seconds to resolve and with only 2, once one is lost teams tend to conserve the last one for the 8th or 9th inning and the blown calls pile up.
April 30, 2026 at 11:48 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #32 thread – Friday, May 1 vs. Los Angeles Dodgers #306309Liberatore probably getting paranoid ,- zero wins in April.

April 29, 2026 at 11:07 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #30 thread – Wednesday, April 29 at Pittsburgh Pirates #306207The ups and downs and downs and ups could upset a man’s stomach.
April 28, 2026 at 7:50 am in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #28 thread – Monday, April 27 at Pittsburgh Pirates #306025As Mike Shannon would say, “Ole Abner has done it again!”
April 27, 2026 at 11:17 am in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #27 thread – Sunday, April 26 vs. Seattle Mariners #305937I’m thrilled with the ABS system because now each umpire cannot have their own personal strike zone that changes depending on which side the batter hits from. This is forcing umpires to use the strike zone as defined by rule or risk being made a fool of.
I think ALL balls and strikes should be called by the ABS system. Period.
April 27, 2026 at 8:23 am in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #28 thread – Monday, April 27 at Pittsburgh Pirates #305923I don’t think Skenes has fared well against the Cardinals thus far in his career – Koufax couldn’t get Bob Uecker out for what it was worth.
April 27, 2026 at 8:20 am in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #31 thread – Thursday, April 30 at Pittsburgh Pirates #305922I think read this is a spot start.
April 26, 2026 at 5:44 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #28 thread – Monday, April 27 at Pittsburgh Pirates #305906Maybe the staff ace can stop the 4 game losing streak.
April 26, 2026 at 3:53 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #27 thread – Sunday, April 26 vs. Seattle Mariners #305900And there’s the sweep for Seattle.
On to the next.

April 25, 2026 at 4:16 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #26 thread – Saturday, April 25 vs. Seattle Mariners #305830As a group, this may be the worst Cardinal pitching performance I’ve endured…
April 25, 2026 at 3:47 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #26 thread – Saturday, April 25 vs. Seattle Mariners #305824What a track meet.
Losing this one could be the begining of a downward spiral.
April 25, 2026 at 2:27 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #26 thread – Saturday, April 25 vs. Seattle Mariners #305816No starting pitching to be found in Busch today, lol.
Bling – Fermin has been decent.
