Not good timing by Mo on the Edman extension
Actually fewer losses is not disingenuous. Losses can’t be made up.
No one cares about run differential. It has zero affect on the standings
For all the whiners and complainers on here do realize only 9 teams (4 NL) have lost fewer games than the Cardinals?

May 7, 2024 at 12:40 pm in reply to: Trade Ideas/Acquisition Ideas/Non-Cards Rumors – 2024-2026 #251111Most people miss half the attendance picture. In MLB road attendance also figures into revenue. I don’t know if this hurts ou helps ( my guess it makes the picture worse) but needs to be considered.
Kid gloves have definitely been put away regarding Hence. He threw 94 pitches tonight.
That is not what I saw on GameDay last night. I would say that over 50% of his pitches were off speed and I got the impression that it was his changing speeds that was fooling the opposition.
One thing I liked about Mathews performance is that he went 90 pitches. They aren’t babying him and think he can handle the workload.
I will be disappointed if Mathews doesn’t finish the last month in Springfield
I watched Mathews on GameDay as well. He looked consistently with his fastball at 94-95. Looked like he was changing speeds effectively with his offspeed stuff around 79-83.
Pretty sure he is ready to be challenged at a higher level
Willis is healthy?
If Ohtani is innocent he will sue the Angels. The interpreter was employed by them.
March 30, 2024 at 9:55 am in reply to: Scott and Saggese provide solid insurance this season #245543Anyone else notice the similarities between Saggese and Colt Keith of the tigers? Both 2020 5th rounders with very similar stats. Keith is nearly a year older and has nearly a full year at AAA and is starting this year in the majors.
The other big difference is Keith signed a big league contract that guarantees him 26 million before he played his first major league game. Would you support that type of contract for Saggese in the off season if he puts up a high .800. OPS at AAA this year?
Not a fair comparison Brian. Teams release prospects ranked in the 30’s and 40’all the time based on organizational needs. And that is where I am talking about O’Brien probably should be ranked.
Did the community (and site experts) miss the boat on Riley O’Brien?
Can Carpenter play short when Wynn struggles? Lol
Baker and Burlson will suffer development
I think they will be quicker to pull the trigger on cutting Carpenter than other legends. What other legend was playing for minimum salary?
But we could catch lightning in a bottle. Appears Holiday may have recommended the signing
Also who knows with limited exposure how he can perform
It is on Oli if he stupid enough to bat him against a LH

More promise than performance on that list. Accept maybe Alcantra who we traded
Wynn needs to open the year in AAA. That probably means Edmond at short

December 17, 2023 at 5:26 pm in reply to: Trade Ideas/Acquisition Ideas/Non-Cards Rumors – 2021-2023 #239956Baur seems like the elephant in the room not even the media wants to talk about. He is possibly a 5 win player for some team. A true #1. Totally ignored by the media. If Flahterty can get $14 million Baur’s floor has to be north of $20 million.
