Has anyone looked at the numbers to see how our minor league teams compare with hitters striking out? It feels like our prospects K at a very high rate. 15 Ks and 17 Ks in the Palm Beach and Peoria games.

Peoria is seventh in its 12-team league in hitter strikeouts.
Palm Beach’s offense is fourth in its 10-team league in Ks.

    Middle of the pack.

Peete has looked good for his age, but still striking out too much. Much like Crooks.

It is the biggest continued challenge for Peete. In the podcast, Kyle mentioned that a high number of his social media followers are very interested in Peete.

Rincon has looked great over his last 10 2/3 innings. No earned runs with 16 Ks.

Gorman’s K% is down 6% from last season, so there is hope for everyone.

Is 6% statistically significant for Gorman’s k rate?

I meant it was 33% last season and is 27% so far this season.

Scott Thomas Blewett. What a great name for an umpire…….but certainly not a relief pitcher, especially a closer.

I read an article on catcher raniel rodriguez in high A ball. Hes only 19 but seems like a hitting sensation. They figure he will make it to AA ball by summer. Maybe even AAA ball by next year. Seems a little quick but sonetimes you have that kind of talent. Catching is a tough spot to move quickly and he apparently is getting time in other spots. I dont want another walker where they moved him a little too soon but future def looks good if he continues to rake.

There is only so much catcher oxygen. For a couple years Bernal was sucking it all up. Now its Rodriguez. And Crooks is raking, Herrera looks credible behind the plate and Pages is overachieving. Poor Leo.

One catcher is not like the others.

None of the others have been a consensus top 35 prospect in MLB like Rodriguez is.

Mathews had an okay start. Too many walks still and not a high enough strike rate. He does good limiting hits but maybe that is because the hitter has no idea where the ball is going either like Quinn.

    Velasquez is 12 for 77 – a .156 BA in Memphis

If he’s shown the ability to hit high A pitching and defends well and has nothing else to prove then you send him to AA no later than mid season.

Does the FCL no longer show up when doing the org filter for MILB scores? I don’t see the FCL Cards here when they did play yesterday.

Albert, you can click on the top filter to make it “rookie” and they show up in the list. I noticed this yesterday as well.

Yeah I did that to find it but years prior you could see all I coudung FCL and DSL on the same pages as the higher levels. It was just slightly easier that way to see all in one spot.

I agree. I hope it gets fixed.
